iDrive freakout? colors are wacky
This is a bit of an odd one. I did some searching, didn't find anything; hope one of y'all can help.
Problem: idrive mode colors are messed up, and the dashboard doesn't change when I change driving modes (see pic - eco pro is half orange/half blue) Issue: * when I start the it's in comfort by default. I switch to eco pro, it should go blue in the idrive display and the dash should change to blue, show more range, have the eco instrument cluster, etc. * now, the dash guages stays in comfort w/ the lower range estimate no matter what mode I set it to (even sport - doesn't change.) it doesn't change at all. The exhaust note changes, so I guess at least some of the changes are applied and the car dynamics seem to be as expected (comfort vs sport, etc) but idrive misbehaving. The only other things I have going wrong are driver laser light housing has a leak (probably not at all connected) and I had another bizarre startup thing (that went away) that my drivers assistance stuff was "permanently disabled". I did google that; various reports of sensor issues and such, but everything seems clear (no mud or whatever) and the issue has gone away. It could be related, but as it resolved itself and this "dashboard/idrive mode issue" is ongoing and now 100% repeatable. Any ideas appreciated. I have a dealer appointment next week but I'd love some insight on this. (2022 M50i fwiw). |

As mentioned, try restarting iDrive. That said though, the range is operating as designed. The driving mode has no effect on the range that is displayed. That is based on past driving not future driving.
