Question Steering Assistant Too Far Right

Has anyone experienced using the highway steering assistant feeling like it's keeping the vehicle too far to the right in the lane? I'm sure (hoping) it's exactly centered, but when I'm using it, it just feels like I want it to be 6 or 7 inches more left in the lane...

Does that make sense?

Almost. I want mine to be about 6 inches more to the right, but I'm slowly getting control of my OCD.

Yeah, it makes sense. I finally figured out that it's better at keeping it centered than I am. For whatever reason, I tend to drive a little left of center.

It would be nice if it maintained the position you had it in at the time that you engaged cruise instead of doing it's own thing.

mine keeps it pretty centered in the lane, though I rarely use it due to the ‘ping pong’. I also have a tendency to stay on the left part of lane, though

I am coming to the X5 from a smaller sedan and I guess I can't quite judge where the 4 corners of the new vehicle are because when I started using assisted driving I was terrified and thought the car was going to take out every mailbox it came across, but I actually just had way more clearance on the right than how it looked from the driver'seat. That's probably what's happening to you.
