2020 vs 2021 x5 differences

A nice 2021 is just not in the budget, so I'm relegated to a 2020. Other than the model year, are there any differences? I understand the current gen G05 came out in MY2019, so I'm thinking there weren't many, if any, changes from '20 to '21. I just refuse to spend more than 40k on a vehicle, so a decent '20 seems to be in that range. Looking to trade in the '21 Durango R/T with 20k miles on it, so we have some equity in that, bringing amount financed closer to 30k.

It would be the wife's daily driver and she's stuck on wanting a '21 for some reason. If I can tell her there's not a lick of difference in the '20 vs '21, she might go for it.

I think the biggest differences were the options and features that were removed from the 21's. Many consider MY20 to be the best MY for the G05 due to the feature and options available. There could have been but don't remember any additions to the 21MY. There is probably a thread someplace listing the differences.

There were some running changes for options that came in July 2021, but there were also some standard features that were dropped, so it depends somewhat on what's important to you. Some of the features in an X5 are just not available on some other vehicles, so you may not know if you're missing something. It also depends on what packages you were interested in. Soft-close doors were not available on the 2021 model along with acoustic glass. After that July cut-in, you could use an iPhone as a key for the X5...I don't think that was available in the 2020 model. You should find either one nice.

April 2021 XDrive45e here - with the soft-close doors. I think they were included with Premium Excellence package.

We are referring to US models. Other countries had, and still have, options and features not available in the US.

I had a sneaking suspicion that was the case.

The only one I know is the auto start/stop feature. You cant disable it on the 21, there is no button to turn it off
