X6 2024 Trunk bike rack

Hi
I am looking for help in purchasing a 1-2 bike trunk bike rack for my incoming X6 40i (2024).

I have located roof rack options, but trying the see if anyone out there has any options you are using for trunk mounted bike racks that will work with your G06 models for a single bike.

Many thanks
PJ

Not considering hitch mount? Probably the easiest.

Could be an option. Does hitch mount limit hands free use of back hatch at all?

in the U.S., you will lose the hands-free kick-to-open feature if you option the hitch

My Kuat hitch racks only prevent the lower tailgate from opening. Upper tailgate works fine. In any case, a trunk rack limits the use of the trunk almost entirely, and that ignores that they're the worst kind of rack on the market.

Sure, but you lose the ability to use the hatch at all with a trunk rack. Plus the extra wear and tear on the vehicle because it makes contact with paint in multiple places.

Yes 100% agree. Trunk rack is more of a contingent setup, or a rare use setup. If you use it often, the pain catch up very soon.

For x5, I would say roof is not a good choice either. Car is too tall. Unless you are mounting a light weight road bike, it is not easy to get the bike up there without scratching something. My mountain bike is about 30lb. I cannot imagine getting it up on the roof by myself.
