My wife trashed our house when she was depressed.

Second time she was depressed she pushed me into a door handle and punched the hell out of my chest.

I guess it depends how bad the situation is. If she is lashing out because she is psychotic then yes but if she is going through some things you don't understand then it depends if your heart is in the relationship to help that person.

I told my mum about it and she laughed at me for staying with her and taking a beating. She wanted me to www.move on... and thought I could do better. Still says it now and again.

if you are having any thoughts on leaving the relationship then 100% id call the cops. Shit like that needs to be documented especially with a legal system as discriminatory against men as the one we live in (Canada and US). If there is no history of it, and its just a drunken momentary laps and you are not looking to leave then probably not worth it.
