This is fantastic! I am a sucker for the stuff I get with the subscription so I keep paying the annual fee!

Now they are under "Seat and armrest heating" rather than "Climate control rules" but the functionality are exactly the same and I have it for all four seats (it detects if a person is sitting there too)!
This is fantastic, thank you! I think I have most of this coded up via bimmercode including rules for my ventilated front seats. Its too cold to check if those rules are working but my steering wheel heat rules appear to be working, but its not kicking on my seat heating settings based on the same rules. I think this potentially needs a different value, any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!

There are four fields that need to be coded, 2 in BDC_BODY3 and 2 in HU_MGU. Can you share your current value for all 4 fields?

There are two that only have the option to flip to active, so those are active.

AKT_AUTO_SITZE_FOND Is set to heizung (01)

AKT_AUTO_SITZE_FRONt is set to heizung-keuhlung (03)

And the screenshot above is set as shown. That’s should give values for all 5 fields I think

I have a 19' X5 5.0 After 4 years of ownership (to the date) BMW is notifying me that my connected drive will no longer work as it does today. No remote start from mobile device, navigation won't be the same etc. I don't even know what else will stop working.
When I purchased the car , the monroney reflected the options, there is nothing about temporary use of the options. I had a friend that bought a new GMC Denali, The dealer charged them additionally for something that was on that monroney. They threatened to sue and GMC gave them a substantial rebate for the error.
a few quick questions:
What will no longer work after the expiration date?
Is it worth it to pay the money?
another poster said that the auto seat heating will no longer work? I also love that feature. I am a huge loyal BMW fan, this is my 10th BMW. This may force me away from the brand with this crazy software subscription stuff.
None of this was mentioned in the sales process....of course!

thank you for your feedback!

The values are correct. For seat auto heat, a person needs to sit on the seat and also fasten the seat belt. This is the case for me for the driver seat and rear seats. However, the front passenger side does not require seat belt. Not sure why.

Many "apps" including caring car/vitalization/climate control rules/M lap timer/auto windows/Spotify/Alexa etc. will stop working without active ConnectedDrive subscription. You also lose real time traffic info and map data updates and online speech recognition. The remote services like unlock/lock/remote start from app should become available as many users including myself are seeing that being unlocked even without ConnectedDrive recently. Although remote 3d camera is not available in the free version.
The auto seat heating can be coded back with BimmerCode. So imo it's not worth it unless you use the factory navigation a lot.

Thanks for checking and I didn’t think to fasten my seatbelt while trying in my garage. I’ll test that out today, thank you for all the help.

Confirmed with seatbelt this is working as expected, thanks again!

I really hate this subscription stuff when it applies to hardware already in the car.
A service if fair enough like map updates or RTtI, that’s fair enough but seating heating? Really?

This does seem model specific as my 2023 g30 thankfully didn’t have any of this, I can use everything that is in the car , no subscription rubbish

Unless the UK is different, it has it, just check your account online. The initial subscription period is four years for ConnectedDrive services in the US.

Maybe as there is nothing in my connected drive for heated seats or suchlike. I also remember the salesman stating something to that effect as I asked about it as I wasn’t happy about going that route

Heated seats are not subscription based. What folks are referring to here is the Climate Rules which is an app that is subscription based.

I coded this and its working fine but then the box for the drivers seat options keep unchecking themselves after a day? Did I miss some timeout code?

I have that sometimes too. But it isn't that frequent, like once a few weeks. Maybe it's the car handshaking with BMW server and trying to disable "climate control rules" due to no subscription? Try disable unused stuff in data privacy, I found that to be helpful to prevent the unchecking.
