I did but according to the sales guy I was lucky as the workshop manager immediately ordered parts for their stock and expected stock when the recall was announced. He told me the next ones have a few weeks waiting time. This is in Spain, Europe

I had to take mine in for service last Friday due to brake system warning. Turned out DSC unit failed which they replaced. They also did the recall repair while it was there.

How long was the repair? Did you get her back same day?

They installed the parts within the day however the parts only arrived 3 days after I bought the car. Overall I think it’s a few hours work so once you have parts you should be in and out the same day.

Would that mean that dealers would have good stock of parts from the 5th onwards?

I would assume that would mean the parts will be available for dealers so when an appointment is made the part can be ordered from a regional warehouse and arrive in a timely manner.

Has anyone in the UK had the repair carried out or seen any further notices from BMW regarding the rectification procedure/timescales etc?

I have an appointment for this coming Monday to do the recall and my dealership just called to let me know that BMW pulled back the current remediation procedure with no ETA.

Really? So their fix was no fix, probably made things worse?

Yes, I can confirm that. Called today to schedule an oil change and asked about recall. Was told that they are still waiting for BMW to give them go ahead. Oh well....

I was today at the dealer for a software upgrade and asked about the recall. They just said the parts are in backorder and they expect them somewhere in June. They said nothing that it was on hold.

You can always get out of your lease but it may cost you. Check with a dealer to see if they are interested in buying it. Used prices have come down but when they were high it was common for people to get money back when terminating their lease early.

Given you have a very rare 4.0 X7 it may be worth something, most were made without a period.

In the US all effected vehicles should gave received a letter but unfortunately it looks like a supply issue getting the parts to dealers.

I spent two years fending off my dealer who was contacting me to buy back my 21 X5 40 what seemed like weekly.

If it's low mileage, I would expect they would be happy to buy back. High mileage, .

I wanted to take my wife's LCI 40i in to have the dealer diagnose the DAP errors thrown during a road trip in mid-March. I did the 8.5 OTA just to see if that would clear them but actually made it worse as at least on 8.0 the system would disengage the second I took the hand off the wheel, throw the errors and then I could rengage and just always keep a hand on the wheel.

Given the LCI is part of the IBS recall I called the service department (they require that for all recalls to ensure parts are available) and was told at least a couple of months before they'd have the parts for the IBS. So just passed on DAP service as the wife doesn't need it for her daily commute and frankly doesn't even know how to engage it. 😜

So June sounds about right and good timing as the X5 is now calling for an oil service in June. So hopefully will kill three birds with one stone assuming the IBS parts are available. 👍
