Are you talking about literal FOB's in the US only? In either case, in my experience this is not as universal a "thing" as you say. It might have been in the past more. FOB or not, my experience has been...neat! Not bald, but clean.

dude is that really a thing with the asianals? I married a k-town girl and she got me into that. Convinced me that using large garbage's was dirty and attracted bugs. Now i'm a mini garbager. No sense in wasting money on mini plastic bags when they come free with every supermarket run. haha

me and my wife are second (or 1.5) generation so we don't do that but whenever parents come to visit, we start having a ton of grocery bags to throw out on a daily basis

Starting from the bottom, stock carpeted mat, layer of Chinese newspapers, piece of house carpet, another layer of Chinese newspapers, a plastic mat, a bath towel, another layer of Chinese newspaper, a floor mat from a Camry, another towel, more newspaper, and finally a winter floor mat that you would normally keep your boots on at home. The top of the stack is usually almost equal in height to the brake pedal.

Both recent FOB here and also actual residents of China and HK.

They might trim a bit but no landing strips or shaven. Mostly their hair grows neat anyway. But still.

There were former FOBs that have clean shaven.
