Was so excited to get my X5. Had it for about 5 months and then I get the parking brake malfunction. Randomly out of no where while driving the parking brake engaged and wouldn’t turn off. Took it to the dealership and a part has to be replaced that is on backorder. I’m in a rental for the foreseeable future. I spent far too much money to be having these issues on such a new car. Ugh. Anyone else have this issue on a new X5? Service advisor doesn’t know when this repair will be taken care of.

I am going to assume you fixed this? Hell of a way to have a defective part...or this one go bad so soon.

It’s unfortunately part of the recall now. My car has been sitting at the dealership since March 25th with no idea of when the part will be available to fix. I am thankful they got me a loaner but I would like my car fixed sooner rather than waiting for later whenever that comes. 😒😤
