You can always add it, its just with some systems is a big PITA.

Within a few months someone comes out with something nice and clean that just plugs in...

Why do you want to add aftermarket amps and subs anyway? The system comes with two subs as is, and they thump nicely.

i kno huh it does sound nice as it is. but you know maybe later on i might want to add 1 12 inch image dynamics sub its really not for bumpin loud as EFF i just want sumthing slightly louder but still remaing clean. hopefully someone comes out wit that module to make it all happen. i kno its a lot easier to install amp and sub in a regular bmw stereo but im just worried about LOGIC 7 since its all fiberoptic

Although the system has an overall nice sound, if you try to turn up the base for a harder thump, you get distortion. This is why I want one Amp and one subwoofer.

Was there any problems with the install?? I heard on another thread that someone had warning lights come on after the install.

Is it hard to install a trunk amp+sub with the Logic 7 system?? I want my installer to do it, but I doubt he's done an E90 yet, is there anythin he should know specifically about the E90 in regards to hookup, wiring?

I am also wondering if it is clean install without any modification.

I am planning on adding one amp with one 10" eD's OV.2 subwoofer just
for that little extra bass from the rear.

Then again, I heard alot of comments regarding BMW's trunk being sealed
air tight so there is no way bass can flow through the cabin area.

Anyone with "light" subwoofer setup(just one sub/amp) want to comment on this? Whether it still sounds great or not?

i have a single 12 image dynamics idq sub with a diamond audio d5300.2 amp. in a sealed box! i also have a sedan e46 WITH NO fold down seats.

surprisingly i can still feel and hear the bass
i made sure to get teh correct box a nice and sturdy one too.
i properly adjusted the amp it it sounds wonderful.
if i had fold down seats i guarantee it would sound a lot better but it already does surprisingly

IDQ subs are very SQ too so they arent really suppossed to get that loud as maybe a ID V.3 would.

I think most OEM system will require a Hi-lo converter as OEM does not have any RCA outs. Or maybe they do???

High to low level converter

Because most cars come with installed radio and almost nobody wants to change radio but just add an ampli, almost all new amplifiers comes with high level inputs where you can connect directly to the speakers output of the radio, so no need to add a high to low level converter. (carefull though read the ampli info before buying)....
i.e. I bought an Infinity 7520a... now I am waiting for the car............ e-91 mystic, beige, natural wood

So don't we need a High low Converter since you will be using the OEM deck. Unless you are planning in adding a aft mkt deck that comes w/RCA's.

High to low level converter not necessary

as a recap, about 90% of the after market amps have both high and low levevl inputs; If you want to keep the OEM car stereo you can connect the ampli using the stereo speaker outputs and connecting to the high level inputs of the ampli... if you install an after market car stereo.... well use the low level (RCA) if equipped.

I have wondered the same things. I recently purchased a 2006 330xi with the L7 and I purchased a Tru****** line output converter. I'm still waiting to do the install because I haven't been able to find a true wire diagram for my car and I do NOT want to fuck my system up. If anyone could possibly help me find one for my specific car, that'd be amazing. I have 2 12 inch kicker comp S's and a 1200w kicker amp that I am trying to install on my car. The converter has RCA's so all I will need is the diagram and I will be set. Everything is in the trunk so it'll be a breeze. Hopefully I have no issues getting the harness taken out.
