Front-end noise

I remember reading in the forum that some other people were having issue with a noisy front end, but can't locate that post.

I'm having very loud cracking sounds coming the the front when braking and maneuvering at slow car park speed, is there a known issue that anyone knows about?

Same EXACT problem started this past weekend in the G05 loaner vehicle I'm currently in!

Crackling noise heard from front end when crawling forward or back with minor brakes applied.

Sounds rocks tumbling in a dryer, but muffled / muted.

Strange, as just happened out of the blue; has been fine to date.

Any chance this can hinder braking performance?

Please do post link to other thread if you're able to find!

Thank you.

In your case, had it rained in the time between when you last drove the car and this instance? Sometimes rust will form on the brake rotors and you can hear it scrape away when you first drive off and especially the first time you hit the brakes after a rain that was allowed to dry.

That sounds very similar to the noise when I touch the brake disc when washing the wheels.

Is there something stuck in there? A while ago, I was driving another car and there was a stone in there and we could hear that noise. Then once we drove fast enough it flew out and made a satisfying noise.

I have this as well. I couldnt go to the dealership yet due to my schedule. But I think this is not supposed to sound this way -- never had a car that makes this kind of sound in slow maneuvering. None of my other BMWs had.

Ugh, that doesn't sound like a stone to me, jack that corner up and pull the wheel, then rotate the hub by hand. Oh wait, there is no jack because of the #@&% run flats. Well, someone has a jack. Sounds like bad wheel bearings in the video. Certainly rotational and not suspension sounding.

Yes, this is pretty much the noise I'm having. Still haven't had time to get to a dealer also, hopefully I can this week.

You got any update?

I noticed the similar noise last week when I was parking it in the garage. The noise was only replicated when I turned the wheel to the left and back. It was very strange. I plan on keeping my eyes and ears on it. FYI, the vehicle sits on the 22'' wheels.

Did anybody manage to figure out what it was and resolve it? I have the same issue on my F06 650i.
