Replacing Battery At Every Oil change on 4.4L TT V-8

I’m new to this Forum; this is my first post and I’m new to BMWs as well. I’m considering ordering a 2020 X5 M50i and have spent a lot of time looking around the internet reading reviews of the currently available X5 xDrive50i. I drove one and it drives beautifully and seems to be a very solid and well-built vehicle. All the technology is amazing and somewhat intimidating at the same time.

I saw a discussion on Road & Track (from back in 2015) about vehicles with that engine going through lots of batteries due to heat in the engine compartment as well as the charging issues, etc., to where some dealers service departments are literally replacing the battery at every oil change.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...ns-bmw-n63-v8/

What have the owners here found to be the case?

Thanks in advance.

That was for the previous generation (F15). They only replaced mine once. I’m at 83,000 miles. Batteries are in the rear of the vehicle.

And, welcome to the forum!

Old and dated...it was 2015. Search Earlier F15 forums. Very limited issue. The V8 rocks.
