The boolean for C_XV3D_COUNTRYVARIANT_NEXTMODE = USA (broken) is: XPath=boolean(//cat[@val<"128"][crit[@val=186]]) or (boolean(//cat[@val<"128"][crit[@val=469]]) and boolean(//cat[@val="255"][crit[@val>=1903]])) or (boolean(//cat[@val<"128"][crit[@val=117]]) and boolean(//cat[@val="255"][crit[@val>=1907]])) That explains why this code changed between build versions/i-step for USA/India vehicles. If the boolean doesnt get a match above, then allgemein is set. These are the codes that are different when comparing a similar spec USA vs ECE car type for 8081, but I only think the countryvariant is relevant: C_CM_CAM_LEFT_POS_AND_ORIENTATION: G005+RL+EGAL+EGAL, G005+RL+EGAL+EGAL, G005+RL+EGAL+EGAL [03 B7 FB D0 03 07 03 F1 FA 17 02 23 01 D0 FB 6E 03 48] C_CM_CAM_RIGHT_POS_AND_ORIENTATION: G007+RL+EGAL+EGAL, G007+RL+EGAL+EGAL, G007+RL+EGAL+EGAL [03 8E 04 44 03 07 03 6E 06 01 02 26 05 7E 04 48 02 C7] C_FLOW_GEOMETRIC_MASK_FRONT: G005+EGAL+MSP+REST, G005+EGAL+MSP+REST [02 2A 92 E7 A2 DE AB D4 B0 C9 B4 BF B7 B6 B9 AD BB A5 BC A1 BD 9C C0 99 C1 8F C2 86 C3 7F C2 75 C1 67 BF 58 BF 49 BD 35 42 34 42 41 41 4F 40 5E 3F 6A 3E 76 3E 7D 3E 8A 3F 93 40 99 43 9D 43 9F 45 A4 46 AD 48 B3 4A BA 4C C3 50 CB 54 D3 5A DC 63 E2 71 E7 81 E9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00] C_FLOW_GEOMETRIC_MASK_LEFT: G005+RL+EGAL+EGAL [33 25 6D DF 72 D5 74 D1 79 CF 7D C9 7D C0 7D B6 7D AD 7D A5 7C 9F 7B 97 7B 91 7A 8C 77 88 76 85 74 79 7F 66 86 4D 91 38 DE 43 E6 4E EB 58 F0 67 F3 72 F6 7C FA 85 FE 8F 03 96 03 A2 03 AA 04 AE 06 B4 0A C5 0F D6 1B E6 3E EF 5E E9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00] C_FLOW_GEOMETRIC_MASK_RIGHT: G005+RL+EGAL+EGAL [35 2E 82 62 81 5B 7F 53 7D 4D 7C 46 7A 3F 79 3B 0D 45 0B 4B 09 52 08 56 07 5B 06 62 04 69 03 6F 02 75 FF 79 FD 7D FC 81 FC 85 FD 8A FD 91 FD 99 FD A0 FC A6 FB A6 FA AD F8 B9 F6 C7 F2 D3 E7 E3 CD EE A4 E9 94 DD 8E D1 8B C8 89 C0 87 C1 85 C0 83 99 84 8F 86 8D 86 8B 88 89 86 7F 86 7C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00] C_TV3D_LOOK_AT_FRONT: F095+EGAL+EGAL+REST [0E 60 00 00 03 FC 11 E4 00 00 02 4E 01 A4 00 00 03 8E] C_TV3D_SHADOW_FRONT_INSIDE_MOVE: RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+REST [01 F4] C_TV3D_SHADOW_FRONT_OUTSIDE_MOVE: RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS, RR22+EGAL+EGAL+JPNUS [00 AA] C_TYPE_KEY: 43 56 36 32 C_XV3D_COUNTRYVARIANT_NEXTMODE: allgemein [00] DG3000_26_28_25: UNK_PARAM_0 [06 03 01] |

Don't worry about it. Based on experience, if you've left it coded it'll probably just start working at some point for no obvious reason |

So for everyone other than @ifr's synthetic test, so far, it takes around 7-10 days for the coding fix to "take" and fully powering down every ECU with battery disconnect doesn't help ... Yes, weird to say the least.

Lost the coding after s/w updated to 03/2020.58
Coded it again today, lets see after how many days the backup camera starts to automatically switch between front / back

Correct - 03/2020.xx didn't fix it for US cars [based off my experience]
As long as the coding fix works, you can get the s/w update While 03/2020.xx allowed me to get the Drive Recorder, I am not sure if there is any noticeable difference than 07/2019

I've done this coding - and noticed an interesting implementation. When I go in reverse the camera icon with the "A" in it isn't lit up, like it's not selected. However, when I shift into drive, the forward facing camera turns on anyway. So from day 1 of coding, it worked for me.

The key nuance is that the coding change fix seems to take hour-to-days-to-weeks to start working and we don't know why.

Not to be rude or mean (although I guess there is no kind way to say this), but if you seriously think you can figure out "what needs to be done", but can't Google EsysX and find where/how to purchase it... I have concerns about your chances for success.
