In anticipation of my M60i arriving next month, I tried my best at searching but couldn’t find any clear numbers about how the RFTs on the 20 inch rims wear (would have preferred the 22s, but Jersey… and not wanting to run a dedicated winter set)

Will they go 25-30k miles and be acceptable at a lease turn in or should I just swap out run flats and then put them back on at lease turn in?

Can't help on the 20s, but my M50 on the 22s got it's second set o rearf tires somewhere around 18-20k miles, and the fronts when I bought it with 22k on it. The 22s may come with a vastly different compound, but I suspect not and that you'll be on your second set of tires by 30k and possibly close to needing your 3rd set depending on how you drive..

At the end of the day it's a 500-600hp medium size SUV. It eats some rubber.

After 9,000 miles on 21” RFT summer tires they’re at 7/32 - so I’d expect to need to replace them by 20,000 miles or so. We’ll see what they’re like in the fall.
20” Winter run flats at about the same mileage are at about the same tread depth. Given that I drove about 2200 miles this winter, they should get to five years about 15k before replacement is warranted.

I suspect you can get 20--25k miles out of the 20's. In the past I have swapped the RFT's for non-RFT's at about 15k miles and then put them back on prior to lease turn in. Make sure you have space to store them and that you have a space saver spare.

i replaced my 20" after 20k miles but it was because i didn't perform an alignment after switching from 21" to 20" three years prior which caused excessive outer edge wear. the main contact treads had lots of life left. i probably could've reach 30-35k miles. Bridgestone Alenza RFT

I had Bridgestone RFT 20" on my X5 when new. I got almost 45k miles from them with plenty of tread left. I swapped them out because I wanted go flats for a less harsh ride. The Bridgestones RFTs were actually great tires and way better than I expected given previous experience with earlier generation RTF tires.

Keep in mind my X5 is a 40i, not an M60. So, your tire wear will be less if you are doing it right.

Same here, I've got 40,000 miles on my Bridgestone RFT with tread left. X5 4.0i

Ha. Exactly! That was my concern. Gonna chew up the rubber a little bit more i imagine.

I was quite pleased with them. But, this Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 go flats are simply amazing. Much smoother ride and they handle great.

I can’t wait to put these scorpions on. In searching the forums, I’ve found several people talking up these tires. I can’t bring myself to scrap my brand new run-flats though, it’s too wasteful.

Our M60 came with the Continental RFT’s on the 21” M915 wheels. We got 13k miles before they were worn out. Replaced with Pirelli PZ4’s. Like them much better.

That is some pretty quick wear on the RFT. How many miles do you have on the replacements and are they wearing better?

You'll need at least 4/32" tread depth for acceptable lease return. Depending on your driving style/conditions, I'd say it's possible but more the exception than the rule. You could end up having to replace all tires near the end of the lease. I always budget a set of tires into my 3 yr lease and just enjoy the car and not worry about tire wear.
