Looking at lease on X5MC. Quote of $1660/mo:
Black Sapphire/Sakhir Orange MSRP: 118,695 Discount: $4500 on vehicle and $1500 rebates/incent = $6000 Adjusted Cost: $112,695 Money Factor: .00118...I think. Lease Term: 36/12k DP: $14,760 (7 MSDs-$11,500-ish, Doc/Acq/Tax/First Paymnt) Any thoughts? Some of the numbers don't seem to make sense on the info I was given, but probably confusing on purpose. Thx!

Discount before rebates/incentives appears relatively low, I'd aim for at least 7% which is what many lease brokers are offering. Money factor also appears to be inflated. I believe buy rate is .00099 this month but you should confirm on the Edmunds forum.

^^ MSD is effectively guaranteed money (saved) after 3 years. If you have the money laying around it makes sense. Obviously you can take that money and throw into the market to make more but that's not guaranteed. Just my 2cents.

They don't do apr for leases. So that's already wrong. I'm assuming their residual is wrong then too. Probably want to find a different dealer.

Is this a good deal on a 36/10 lease? My credit score is mid 800si
Hi all,
My dealer who I’ve bought many bmws from is offering me this deal. I like my salesman a lot and I want to do the deal with him but I want to make sure I’m getting the best deal as I’ve been super loyal over the years. Thanks all! Decent deal. That looks to be about 6% off msrp which is about invoice pricing and everything else looks right. When i was looking a few months ago it was hard to even get that deal. Not sure where its at now but i'd imagine you can get above 6% off.

Reading your posts, I will admit you guys are way smarter than I am.
What does the math look like on a lease vs finance vs purchase cash and sell three years later? Obviously each has its own positives and negatives, but what's the smart money move? Does your answer basically carry over to any car purchase? I've purchased all my cars cash and sometimes I recoup a good amount of my initial acquisition price, sometimes not. In most cases it's less than the cost of a lease but add the maintenance and it's probably an even wash. Thoughts? |
