New X5 But summer wheels need to go into hibernation
I just purchased a new x5 xdrive 40i with the Msport package in October, But winter is coming.
I am Happy with my 21 inch summer tires. but the weather is about to get colder and I want to be safe in my new whip. So I just installed some winter wheels/tires that are not staggered. Winter: 275/45/20 all around Michelin Cross Climate2 switching from the following setup Tire sizes: Summer: 275/40/21 front. Rear: 315/35/21 - Pirelli Pzero's After making this change do i need to worry about an alignment with this switch? Do I need an alignment every time i switch back and forth from this staggered setup.

No you don’t need alignment when changing wheels and tires of the same outter diameter. The car doesn’t know.
My question is if you go through the trouble of changing to winter tire, why climate Cross? It is basically all season. Why not winter tires?

Where did you go about shopping for the wheels? I'm having trouble finding compatible wheels for an M-sport setup on 2024 X5 models. I want to get a set of 20" for the winter that are hopefully a bit cheaper than the OEM 748m set I see on shopbmwusa.com. TIA

So for me I choose these all season with the Three peak because I live the PNW(pacific northwest) mostly low lands where I felt I did not know need a pure snow tire but something that could handle rain and some light snow. Also after looking at some reviews I thought they would be perfect winter tire for me with a decent mileage warranty. One more thing about your answer, when you mean Outer Diameter should not be a problem, what about the width of the rear tires being so different from the 315/35 that I took off. Thanks!

I did see these same wheels on tirerack's site too. I was also looking at the OEM tire setup but these where about half the price.
