MSS Springs Installed - thoughts?

Installed some MSS height adjustable springs on my ‘23 M50i. Not thrilled with the drop. They are on the lowest level too. Still doesn’t fill the wheel gap. I’ve attached pictures here to get some opinions. What do you guys think? Do these springs just not provide as hard of a drop as I was expecting or could it be something else? I’ve seen posts with others mentioning some of the same so maybe it’s just that these springs aren’t too aggressive. Ride comfort is just as good if not better than stock.

Unsure about about MSS, but when I lowered my Mercedes with H&R it took a few weeks for the springs to settle. I wasn’t happy with the height, but after the settling period it lowered an additional 1/4 which filled any gap perfectly.

This is on par from what I'd expect with this kit. I went with coilovers not only for the height and fine tuning in adjustability with ride quality. Hopefully the MSS will settle in and a bit lower.

That’s what I figured based off of other posts. Thank you!

Just wanted to put good word in for the MSS springs. This is on my '19 xdrive 50i.

I just had MSS coilovers installed by RGSport with H&R spacers 15/20mm on 8/25 Friday and they sit great! I'm pretty sure it's at its lowest setting, but I let RGSport match it all up. Right out of installation it sat fairly low. I only drove about 100 miles since. Hard to see photos with the shadows, but the front is barely a 2 finger gap and the rear is about 2 1/2" finger gap. Might settle a little lower as well. Hopefully this gives some options for MSS purchases - go to RGSport, great guys - had this installed there.

Hmm……looks really good. Nice and low. Don’t understand why mine leave such a large gap.

Did the installer install it correctly? I've read somewhere regarding the bumpstops. But I can't find that thread again. It was RGSport on the discussion as well.

Hi r33_RGSport . I have a ‘23 BMW M50i. I purchased the springs from a local installer. They offered a discount on the labor if I ordered through them. The part number looks to be 05aBMWX56SU. See picture I took from the box. Let me know if you think something is wrong. Appreciate it.

That is a correct part number.

I think these are the pictures of the test car (M50i) that I used to finalized the M50i setup.
About 500 miles after installation.

How many miles do you have since the installation?

Thanks for confirming the part number r33_RGSport. The pictures you posted don’t seem to be dropped as much as the pictures that christwinzbmw posted a few posts ago. Your pictures look closer to my drop. Maybe it’s just all in my head or that the drop just looks more dramatic on a lighter colored car. Thanks again.

2 different setup.
Chris is xDrive50i.
The test car and yours is M50i.
Suspension is different than the 40i and 50i.

I did tried lower setup, it rides bad and making noises.
So, this setup is the best it can be.
Next would be a full coilover.

I assume the question is for me?

IIRC, it is 1.25".

I do think they settled a bit as it looks lower to me now. Still not fully getting rid of the wheel gap but much better.

FWIW from this peanut gallery of 1, I think the height looks good. I wouldn’t worry too much about the wheel gap. Any lower and I think the M50 might look too low IMO.

Thanks for the thoughts. Since they’ve settled some, I’m now more comfortable with the height. The ride is phenomenal too with them.

Good to know. If you don’t mind sharing, how much for parts and install?

A buddy of mine installed for free so not sure what someone would charge you for that. In terms of the springs, reach out to r33_RGSport and he can send you a message regarding pricing.
