wheel clear coat

My clear coat is for crap. I bought a 2019 CPO and the clear coat is pealing like hell. I think I’m going to sand them and paint them black myself.

Which wheel do you have? Powder coat black would be nice... post pics when you can.

This is the front. All 4 seem to be missing spots of clear coat. You can really see it at about 45 degrees from top center.

BMW biggest flaws is it's paint on the wheels.....love alot of the OE styles but the paint / clear chips easily.

You can get a mobile repair guy to blend clear in.....but the correct method if you want the same look, is powder coat, recut, and then re-clear on powder. I haven't done a deep dive but my go to wheel guy on this type of re-finish, after re-cutting the wheel, he won't clear in powder, but will do it in paint and straight up say it's not as durable. I'm sure there is a reasoning to this.

Good luck.
