No sir - still the same. The last time I spoke with them I was told May 9-15 build week, so hope to see a status change soon. And then need to schedule PCD....trying to remain patient!

Great write up OP! really enjoyed reading u decision process and story of test driving the contenders!
Much easer for me as I'm a bimmer fan for years and decisions like this are much either I love BMWs but only full size SUVs not a fan of sedans for some reason! For sedans I usually go to VW So I had and X5 35i for couple of years and X5M for 5 years now looking in to future BMW purchase considering all 3 options 40i, M50i and X5M as well. I'm probably year or two at this point until pulling the trigger but we'll see where the prices going to land at that point, as I'm planning on cash purchase. Good luck with u PCD delivery and let us know how it went!

After sitting in the "Production Begins" stage for the last two weeks, I have zipped through the entire production process in the last 24 hours...vehicle is now complete....now just waiting for my 6/23 PCD. Going to be a long 5+ weeks, but based on everything I've read on here about the PCD experience I think it will be worth the wait......39 days and counting!

Travel arrangements and PCD have been finalized. Will take delivery on 6/23 and then travel to Augusta, GA to visit the granddaughter for a few days before returning to Oklahoma. Still working on the best route home (considering a northern route to hit the "Tail of the Dragon.."). Will then drop off the following week for ceramic coating. Can't wait to finally see this is in person...!

Well, after 3 months of research, one month of configuring/ordering and ~ 3 months of waiting for the build to be completed, I finally took delivery of my 2021 X5 M50i at the Performance Center. Spec's are as follows:
Dravit Grey Metallic Black Extended Merino Leather Anthracite Brown Poplar Matte Trim 22" M Double-spoke black wheels, style 742M w/ performance non run-flat tires Driving Assistance Professional Package Dynamic Handling Package Executive Package Parking Assistance Package M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers Extended Shadowline Trim Bower & Wilkins Sound System Front and Rear Heated Seats Heated Front Seats, Armrests & Steering Wheel Front Massaging Seats Trailer Hitch Space-saver spare I could not be happier with the vehicle or the experience. Although it was a little unnerving ordering a vehicle in a color combination which I had not previously seen in person, this color, IMO, is absolutely stunning. Pictures simply don't do it justice as they can't capture the depth or the appearance changes in various environments. Seeing this for the first time in the front lobby of the Performance Center was simply special. And speaking of the Performance Center, it was truly an amazing experience. While I truly enjoyed experiencing the braking, skid pad, slalom and off road track in a BMW provided vehicle, the highlight for me was taking a "hot lap" in a new M5 Competition with a professional BMW driver behind the wheel. Hard to wipe the shit eating grin off my face after that experience.... Overall, I felt the PCD experience was a blast and worthwhile if you haven't done it before. Spent an afternoon in downtown Greenville hitting the various patio bars while the wife shopped, and had an excellent meal at one of the many local restaurants. While accommodations at the Marriott were what I would consider average, the friendliness and attention provided by their staff more than made up for any shortcomings. Factory tour was interesting and informative. Again, highly recommend if you're even considering a PCD. As for the vehicle, just wow! Left Spartanburg and made the two hour drive to Augusta to visit family. As we also have a Q7 that is our normal "road trip" vehicle, we expected the X5 to be more for short trips while providing more a sporty feel and fun factor. At least based off a 2 hour drive, I'm not sure I'll ever want to take the Q7 again. As I had hoped, this vehicle seems to be a perfect balance between sport/performance and luxury/comfort. I'm convinced there is not another vehicle on the market than can provide this type of diversity at this price point. We'll be heading out tomorrow for the 1,000 mile road trip back to Oklahoma, and I simply can't wait to get on the road. Hopefully this vehicle will continue to impress.....

Your specced it exactly as I would have (sans the 22 inch rims since they would be brutal on the East Coast). Congrats on an amazing configuration. Wow! |
