X5M competition with winter setup

Winter is coming soon here in Sweden so I have installed my winter setup.

My original plan was to use the same winters as I hade on my previous G05 M50d, 22" 747 M performance wheels. But they didn't fit. The breaks are too thick. I didn't want to use spacers.

So my dealer bought my used 747 back for a good price and gave me a good deal on the only winter option that is available from BMW. It's a 21" 295 setup all around. I like them. They look good. But they could be a little further out in the rear.

They look fantastic - thanks for sharing - I've ordered the same to come with the car when it arrives. I think the square set-up is the right one for winter.

Just what i wanted to see! How has the ride quality changed with these alpin 5 tires? I had them on my M3 and i simply loved the way they drove in all conditions.

I've had Alpin 5s and Conti TS806Ss - I'd rate the Conti's slightly above the Alpins but both are fantastic.

I also have Conti TS830Ps on another of my cars - they are really good as well and very performance biased but slightly older tyres now.

I don't feel any difference in ride quality. But I can see an almost 20% increase in fuel consumption. so that's bad news. But I will give it a week or so before final judgment

on a 2020/2021 X5MC?

I was under the impression 20" don't fit over the front brakes for some reason.
