Michelin tyres 22 inch

I have a 22 inch staggered setup. My tyre shop offering me
Front Michelin Pilot super sport .
Rear. Michelin pilot sport 4s.

All oem sizes but no bmw star obviously.
Has anyone run these or got experience of what they are like.
I have to say they do seem quite good tyres.

This is interesting, normally you would never mix a different front and rear tire and the majority of shops would never recommend it.

I inquired with michelin earlier in the year if they had plans to make sets in 22" X5 sizes, and the person I chatted with online told me the same thing as what your shop offered, and said that it was ok to mix different tires as long as they were all in the pilot sport lineup. Personally I wouldn't do it.

Unless something has changed recently, Michelin doesn't make a matching set in either. Both are awesome tires, like I said personally I wouldn't mix them though.

Will you consider 285/35/22 4s for fronts? They are within 1% difference. I will try this next summer.

I've had both models on my M4 (never mixed front and rear however). What I can say is that these tires like some temperature in them before they really start biting. It takes quite a spirited drive to get them up to temp (in an M4)so with that being said, they might not be the most optimal choice. Their main target group is high performance cars after all. So unless you get them quite warm you won't feel much of a difference to any other high end tire.

If you drive in colder environment that might be true, but in normal conditions (15c and above) I never felt that way. PSS and 4S actually overheat easily on track, and Cup 2 will scare you when it's cold. Overall I think 4S is the best choice for summer in both wet and dry.
