If you see eight BMWs on the road and one takes an exit, how many are left?

I put 8 and got it wrong

What kind of car do you think we'd all be sitting in?

Yeah, but if you are registering for a BMW enthusiast forum then you will most likely be driving a BMW as well. So there are the 7 that you can still see and the one that you are sitting in.

it didnt stipulate that you were in a car or on the road for that matter, you could have been seeing the 8 bmw's from the out the window of the 22nd floor in your high rise condo that has a view of the freeway
