I am experiencing this issue with ceramic tint and will be going back in next week to have it replaced with plain dyed film that supposedly does not block as much IR light (which the OP of the mentioned thread indicates is the main issue).
Did replacing the ceramic with the plain dyed film solve your problem? I have the same issue.

Dealer had my car for the last two days and gave it back to me last night and said they could not duplicate the dimming and everything was fine. This is after the salesman and genie witnessed it.

this is good to hear as the general consensus is that ceramic tint wreaks havoc on the IR dimming sensor, and I'm picking up my car in 2 days after getting Xpel XR tint. I really wanted the heat rejection and was willing to sacrifice the dimming issue for it.

Yeah I have never had issues with the xpel. I had it on my car before my current x5 as well. The heat rejection is awesome. I lived in Texas for 8 years and now in Florida. I will always have it!

i can confirm i don't experience any excessive dashboard dimming issues in either the instrument cluster or control display with XPEL prime XR+ window tint (35% front driver and passenger windows, 70% all remaining privacy windows, NO TINT to sunroof or front windshield).

No matter what I tint the whole car because I want heat rejection. If you are going for just look then no ceramic is needed but since money is spent, better get good heat rejection.

If you don't tint the back, front side is somewhat stays cool when driving for long distance but then heat comes in from the back so your back of head gets hot haha
Same!

Ive used them for my 430i and X5. I did all the windows and the heat reduction was very noticeable.

I got an appt to do my new X5 this week.
