I know, right?! We've had our family of five in a 5 series for the past three years. I guess I can survive without it, but it sure would be nice to separate hose kids on road trips! 😜

I've ordered my x5 with tartufo. I agree that the photo you took is pretty true to life. It's a tough color to represent in photos, and the bmw configurator is just way off. The color also changes quite a bit depending on light.

Called BMW Genius line today and our car left the factory yesterday and was loaded onto a train. It is due to arrive at Port Hueneme, CA VPC on October 26th! Their estimate was it would be at our dealer by November 2nd! YEAH!!

Let's be clear about this — Extended Merino leather does not get you leather dash. Anyone that says otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.

It’s not included. That was early on in the process and there was confusion early on. We had to pay extra for the leather dash. Sorry for the confusion. I think it was discussed in greater detail in a different thread.

The port in Oxnard is the where both BMWs that arrive via ship from Germany and also cars that arrive via train from SC end up. It’s the VPC for the whole west coast.

As Scott pointed out above, there was confusion when the ordering guides first came out.

Sorry, but there is just some terrible information on here for would-be buyers. Some great information as well, but all it takes is one bad piece of info for someone to make a mistake when they order and then they end up being disappointed on a relatively expensive purchase.

If you read the rest of this thread you will see that in post #47 I in fact had to add the leather dashboard to the build. The initial discussion about it being included with Mernio was before there were any concrete details available just shortly after the ordering guides were released. For the most part the information on here is fantastic for would be buyers...and the more current the discussions the more accurate they are since more info is available now.

No reason to harp on months old posts when it was later clarified. I’ve tired to be as helpful as possible on the G05 forum. Sheesh.

I really didn't intend to start anything. I was just making a general point and not directing my comment at anyone in particular. There was a lot of back and forth on the extended leather / leather dashboard point in other threads over the last couple months so I wanted to make sure anyone picking this up now knew what the answer was and didn't need to go back and read all the old threads.

Our car arrived at the Oxnard VPC yesterday and is scheduled to be loaded onto a truck tomorrow and arrive at our local dealer by Friday! Should be able to see it on Saturday...but can't take delivery until the 1st! I'll post pics when we get a chance to see it.
