Simply sinful I say. Sorry but I couldn’t live with that.

I'm going to solve this problem by ordering the Vantablack leather next time. The wrinkles will still be there, but you won't be able to see them.

What's up with this? My 2020 X7 has the same wrinkled back seat leather.

I'm thinking it's by design because of of the seats being folded back and forth more frequently then the rest of the seats.

Just a thought, but it seems like every car I saw at the dealership that had second row bench seats had wrinkled leather.

LexxM3 wow, that's unacceptable. I think there's a degree of wrinkling that is acceptable. I am not sure if this is due to the cold weather? I didn't notice is from when I took delivery in May 2019 until about October 2019. Once it started to get down to freezing temps, it seemed to wrinkle. I just blame it on the temperature. This makes me feel better about it!

Hi. Yes. Our x5 has the ivory merino leather which looks like a 1k option that came with our build. Feels like the same leather in my f86.

Both Vernasca and Merino are designed to have the "wrinkles" in them. The "over-wrinkling" problem happens with both leathers.

This Merino here is walking the fine line of having the problem although can be tough to tell on pictures.

I think a little tufting or wrinkling is ok. Seems very intentional. Maybe it avoids stress on stitching long term? Last pic seems like a lot to me relative to what I see in ours. Just IMO.

Has anyone addressed why if intentional, it’s not present on the front seats?

Many, many times. The front seats are a totally different style of seat. Perhaps if they offer front bench seats in the future they will have them.

BMW Road Home Sales Event TV Commercial

You guys seen the BMW Road Home Sales Event TV Commercial? Its been playing for a while now. I finally paid attention to it tonight and noticed the scene where it showed the kids comfortably sleeping in the back seat on Marino leather. Smooth as can be. Yeah I know, someone is sitting on the seat and smoothing them out and covering them up
The only place I ever see the wrinkly seats are on cars we buy, never in ads, on their website or other BMW global sites, brochures, etc. Why is that?

WHAT? I missed one? ha ha Where did you see your pic?

When this topic first started, I scoped out several global BMW sites looking for a wrinkly seat because I was engaging with BMW Genius's and wanted to be sure that what I was telling them was correct, never found a wrinkly seat pic. I was really hoping the wrinkles were a mistake, a learning curve, etc but I now believe Turtleboy is correct in that its intentional because while we may blame BMW for many things, I just can't see them letting these kind of mistakes out of the factory.
The pix you posted aren't that bad, its the baggy pants ones I don't like, I mean they're never going to get better, only worse as you sit in them.
