It was cringe-worthy awful. The ginger screams the entire episode.

Chris Harris isn't even on the real show. He is on some terrible after show called Extra Gear. What a waste of a talented car reviewer.

I actually found extra gear more interesting. They need to replace Chris Evans with Chris Harris.

They should've taken it a bit slow and probably revamp the whole thing instead of continuing the old format. 5 min into the show they went all out on a Dodge Viper review with a Top Gun theme with spectacular shots, in which Chris Evans didn't say he liked the car or not (only later he said in Extra Gear that he didn't like to so much to buy one) and before you know it they were doing meaningless stunts with it against a Corvette. The stunts only work if the characters are established properly, not when audience has zero clue about the presenters.

Leblanc's Ariel Nomad review is promising, but should've skipped the stunt at the end. The interviews were awkward but not really bad and Chris Evans is reasonably entertaining.

But what really killed it - The really lame 'Blackpool' driving challenge. Why were they even going to Blackpool? If it's a UK vs US thing - why were they both driving Reliant Robins? What was even the challenge? The final act 'Defender vs Wrangler' felt like a bad buddy cop movie. I get that it's too tempting to do UK vs USA challenges but the producer should've waited atleast until a few episodes to build some chemistry, instead it looked really cheesy.

Ugh the whole thing just came across as try hard. RIP Top Gear. Did they have to steal Matt Leblanc away from a toothpaste commercial? Reminds me of the way Fifth Gear was always the challenged little cousin to Top Gear. Now there's two challenged little cousins. Hopefully the boys keep it going properly on their new Amazon production.

Wow, what can I say? This is just as bad as Top Gear USA and I didn't even make it through the entire episode.

The chemistry was not there, both hosts were damn annoying and tried way too hard without being funny, it was too gimmicky, it borrowed too much from the old Top Gear.... even Sabine was annoying.

It made it seem like absolutely none of them were car people. Did anyone even get what it was like to drive either the Viper or Vette? Nope. They were too busy chasing each other with rockets, wtf.

To be honest, I thought the last couple of seasons of Top Gear got really repetitive and stale. But even that was better than this steaming pile of garbage.

I watched it last night. I thought it was mediocre. I think they need some time to grow into it and maybe a format change. Those are some really big shoes to fill left by Clarkson/Hammond/May. And Top Gear needs some new themes/ideas as it was getting a whiff of stale before the big blowup. Honestly I thought Leblanc's review was pretty good, he seems more natural. The video and editing is still top notch and I'll still watch it for the incredible cars and footage alone (plus anytime Chris Harris is involved I'm hooked)

Let's not forget the first 2 seasons of Clarkson's Top Gear weren't all that great, the chemistry took time to develop. Go back and watch S1 or S2 it's tough sometimes. The real classics are the mid seasons S5-S13 or so. Not as forced with rediculous challenges and more screen time for car reviews.

I still say give these guys at least a whole season to figure each other out. Just my .02

All my car mates agree the extra gear show sooo much better than the ginger one screaming at the camera. Seriously it's not the 90s Chris this isn't the big breakfast and Sabine is not Denise van outen 😢 loose the stig...keep Sabine and bring in some eye candy plenty of very pretty car vloggers out there that would be more entertaining.

I usually try to keep an open mind about these types of things, but I have to agree ........ the show s*cked big time. As others have said, it was as if they were trying too hard. I felt like the audience participation was coached and not natural as well. Clarkson,Hammond, and May had a chemistry that is hard to come by. Sure Clarkson was temperamental, but the BBC blew it in my opinion.

New Top Gear is no good. No real car reviews, just a lot of screaming and "stunts". The last seasons of Old Top Gear went down the path of "entertainment", with less time spent on real car reviews. I preferred the format of the earlier seasons of Old Top Gear.

Saw it as well and it was "0" with the new guys !
The new guys try too hard to copy the Top-Gear funny moments , but they failed and it created an idiot atmosphere .

Probably Clarkson is/was a dick , but no one on earth is able to presenting Top-Gear in Clarkson's specific sarcastic manner .

What was wrong with Evans, why was he yelling everything. It was a terrible first episode. Why would you want to try and replicate and even poke fun at what was the best automotive show in the world, especially when you are an unproven cast.

I won't be watching this show anymore.
