Its power v/s weight and balance was nearly unbeatable for most other cars into that class. Ladies love 'em too, so it was always a win-win situation.

My first car was a 1982 Mercury Capri (Mustang Wannabe) with a 4sp and 302 engine.

I loved that car immensely as my Grandmother cosigned on a loan with me to start establishing my credit and I actually paid it off early.

Thought it was a beast..LOL...maybe had 150 HP. First got into "wrenching with that car. My Uncle who owned a garage at the time help me drop in a 351 Windsor.....and then I got my first taste of what would become a very expensive hobby.

Had an older woman run a red-light and crashed into the passenger side. Car was totaled and I picked up a yellow 1977 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6.

Below is what the Merc looked like, only mine was white.

Hello BMW Experts!

I didn't have a car in HS, because I was a bit of a delinquent. But my girl friend had an old beetle, and her dad had a short Land Rover!
Out of HS I was looking for a beetle or an old Volvo. My father had an Audi Super 90 wagon which I loved, but a friend told him BMWs were better. So I found a '69 2002! Both front fenders rusted, but what did I care?
Since then I've had only BMWs except for a Honda during one of the last century's gas crisis, but it was too boring, and I soon got another 2002 (four in total).

I loved it!

I had the 2nd one in my city, right off the transport. I was looking at a GTi with my dad when he suggested getting the Scirocco which was above our agreed upon budget but he said it was ok. I didn't even know how to drive a manual transmission. My dad wrote the check, stuck in the receipt in the glove box and said, "see you at home", then drove off.

I knew the theory of driving a standard transmission and on the 5 mile drive back home I only stalled it once. The clutch lasted 87K miles and the car was totaled at 4 years old when an old lady ran a light and cut across my path.

It was a good car.

Well...if you take a PDE-5 inhibitor for 30 days in row it's supposed to increase girth and length. So they say...

Edit: You'll need a new Girth Certificate to remain compliant with federal law.

Yeah, and there's heavy trucks like I used to drive. You look down on, and into, every other vehicle. I saw some very strange things. And a few awesome things - like the hot chick who drove alongside me for about 10 minutes on a lonely stretch of freeway, using what appeared to be a hairbrush to...I think you can imagine. When she was finished, she sped off. I tooted the air horn in thanks.

My brother owned one (Saleen). Rarely drove it. It was still in pristine condition when he passed. Not sure if his widow still owns it or not.

Those and the different stages of Roush Mustangs always left an impression on me before I got into Corvettes.

The S197 Roush cars were meh looking IMO. S197 Saleen is a much better looking car. A good friend had one & sold it for profit after he enjoyed it for a year or so.

I dated a chick with a blown 2010 Roush Mustang. Drove it quite a bit. Aside from the lack of HP & TQ (facory blown car), it was fun to drive. Exhaust sounded good & I gotta say that shifter was BUTTER!!!!!

Yeah....all those cars came with "roots" style blowers and maybe put out 7psi if lucky. Lots of heat soak.

But they sounded awesome.

Ironically....and you probably already know this, but that class of drugs were originally developed as a different class of blood pressure medecines.

Once they noticed one of the "biggest" side effects, they changed direction with their marketing!
