Hey guys, I just had something super scary happen. I've had a battery that was needing a boost. A couple of times I had to boost it to get it going and I figured everything would be ok until I had the chance to go get a battery and install it.

On my 2020 X5 M50i as I was driving to my brother's shop on the highway at 140km/h i had a brake boost fail, and body stability failure.

All of a sudden my brake pedal was completely stiff, and my x5 felt like i was driving a boat on water. I popped it in neutral and practically stood on my brake pedal to get the vehicle to stop and pulled over on the shoulder.

My brother saved the day and met me on the side of the highway where we replaced the battery, but just a word of caution. Apparently the brake booster on these vehicles is electronic. After we replaced the battery and cleared the codes it was perfect and has been back to normal since.

I never expected something like this to happen, and would hope that this proves to help someone in the future!
