2019 X5 Passenger Restraint System

Hi everyone - Recently my vehicle popped up with passenger restraint system message. Is there anything I can do or look for to troubleshoot this or am I confined to going to the dealer to fix? Vehicle has 42k miles. Thanks.

Garage List
I gotten this error on my 2020 and it turns out it was a bad passenger SRS wiring harness that was rubbing on something behind the dashboard. They replaced it and made sure it was rerouted to prevent it from happening again. My SA said it was a known issue on some models i thinks.

Mines was still under warranty when it happened.

I mean, it’s a generic error, though there is a not a lot to the restraint system in terms of parts that can throws an error code.

My bet though is it’s related to air bag control module or the seat occupancy sensor mat.

I purchased dried everything out and purchased a scanner from Amazon for $135. It was specific to BMW and I preformed a reset and it went away -
