Hi all

New owner of a 2024 X5 lci over here in Australia.

I have two kids in the back with their tablets that are WiFi only, is there a way for them to automatically connect to the BMW hotspot and use the data from my mobile?

AFAIK, using the vehicle’s hotspot requires a separate data plan.

I can’t speak for the 2024 model, but in previous models with the wireless charger, placing the phone on it also activates the LTE compensator to boost its mobile signal. then wifi devices can connect to the phone’s hotspot

This is interesting, I assume the phones hotspot needs to constantly be on for this? Or does does it automatically switch on when placed on the charging pad?

your phone’s wifi hotspot functions independently from the vehicle. i wouldn’t have it on constantly, just whenever your kids need it.
