This ear is about 1-1/2" in diameter and about 6 inches long. Not much yield there.
I'm not personally impacted, but my cornfield project is not looking too promising for the harvest portion. I was hoping to be closely involved in the harvesting with some close-ups of the inner workings of the combines and maybe some interior cockpit shots while harvesting. But now it looks like the farmers might just plow stuff under or thresh it for feed or whatever.

Triton3k, great focus and exposure.
Tail feathers are easy to get, so now you need to go for shots with the head showing, good eye contact, good head angle, etc. I know you're overjoyed that you got focus and exposure right and a bird in flight, but now is the time to take the extra step and invest the extra time to get the other end of the birds. Dave, I like your "Almost Down" photo on your Flickr photostream better. The reason is because the beak isn't "attached" to the wings, so to speak.

With the economy this way US farming is not going to well with this weather. Hopefully they can pull through.
Wifey is next door in Ill. she said that the place was "flat as a pancake". I let her know that the hill behind our house was almost as tall as the high point in the state. It is a very small hill
