Do have 22" summer Pirelli or Contis? I prefer the squared shoulder on my 22" Pirelli Winters than the rounded shoulder on the Conti Contacts. The Contis look like swollen donuts

Out of stock in my delivery area. TireRack keeps reserve stock just for Bentley dealers. So the dealers order from their Bentley branded TireRack online storefront.

America’s Tire (Discount Tire) lists the same tire and size for less (overall), but for some reason these tires are not compatible with our cars (according to their website).
https://www.americastire.com/buy-tir...ro-a-s/p/42318 https://www.americastire.com/buy-tir...ro-a-s/p/42319 I couldn’t find any discernible difference versus the “Bentley” branded ones. They’re both XL rated with identical load indices and the same speed and treadwear rating. |

I've had them on my m50i for a couple hundred miles now here in Michigan and can tell you I don't hear any additional road noise over stock. Might be due to the noise cancelling foam on the inside of these. Ride is on par to stock. Haven't had to drive in snow yet but wet traction is the same if not better than stock. |

BMW approved tires will have a five-pointed star molded into the sidewall to designate them as such. BMW works with the tire manufacturer to customize a tire to their specifications, or set some other quality standards. So, while there may not actually BE any differences, buying one with the star on it meets BMW specs. Only BMW and the tire manufacturer can tell you what, if any, differences there are on the same model tire with or without the BMW branded star on it.

The sizes, load ratings and other published specs are identical. I scoured the details for any difference and I couldn't find any. Is it the noise-reducing foam? Even if that was the case, it shouldn't preclude the installation of the non-Bentley tire. |

From a practical viewpoint, you'll probably be fine, but if you get a vibration, resonance, or some other irregularity, it may not have been the same if you'd chosen one approved by BMW. FWIW, on my last BMW, I did not choose the BMW OEM tire for it, and all was fine, and you will probably be, too...but, that does not mean that there are not any differences between an OEM one and the generic (or in this case, Bently) ones. Certain sizes of winter tires tend to sell out fairly early, so it's always a good idea to buy or at least reserve them early in the fall. |

Where did you get your replica wheels from? I just ordered an X5M50i with the 22", and I definitely need winter tires so I'm trying to figure out what's the best set up. I had a 2013 and 2015 with the 20", and back then it was a big deal to have the 20" rims even though the Continental Extreme Contacts never let me down as all seasons. However, my current lease is a Range Rover Sport with 22" rims, and with the all seasons it was horrible in the snow. I hated the Rover so I'm going back to the X5, but I'm not sure what rim/tire combo to get.

'Best' is very conditional based. Deep snow and ice, or cold and slush, or just cold all would suggest a different class of winter tire. They are not all equal or up to the diverse task. In the USA, a tire rated for autobahn speeds isn't really needed, either, and that can dictate other things. Most any of the classes are good for up to about 100mph, though, which, in the USA should be fine. To protect rims and the tire's sidewalls, a taller sidewall is recommended by all tire manufacturers for winter use, so, generally, 22" rims wouldn't be recommended as the first choice even though you may prefer the look. Depends on how much you rate safety over looks.

The X5 will be just as bad as the RRS with A/S tires.

Same Pirelli set up here, but I have 275/35-22" front and rear. Better grip on Norwegian winter roads ❄️
