Looking for wider wheel arch fenders...

Hi there,

I am planing an experiment on my 2020 M50i and would like wider front wheel arches.

Only seen those from Hamann tuning and they cost like EUR 2900.00. This is just ridiculous if you compare them with oem parts which cost around EUR 180 each.

Seen on Ebay and co wider ones for F85 and E70 but nothing for G05 yet.

Anyone seen something on aliexpress ?

Thanks

I'm waiting myself.... because I want to push.my wheels out even further. Currently, Hammann is the only manufacturer.

But.... with the X5M now on the road, and sharing the same fenders, I expect cheaper aftermarket options will be available soon.

For now..... just gotta wait.

Its unfortunate that the wheel arches on the X5M don't line up to fit the X5 M50i bumpers.

The X5M wheel arches are tapered vs flat bottom on one end of each.

I guess buying the front & rear bumpers plus arches are an option.....probably cheaper to by the ///M. lol

This could be a cool DIY project. I've seen people do full blown widebodies using that expand foam/bondo then fiberglass over it. Considering this is just a small fender flare it shouldn't be that hard and low risk (working on a spare set)

Are they? I know they are different on the older F85 models..... but I was under the impression that the F95 and G05 shared the same fender flares.

Now I.need to google search and zoom in on some F95s

We're both wrong.

The F95 X5M and G05 X5 fender flares are the same "size and width".

But they are not interchangeable. Look at the back side of the rear fender flare.. specifically the seams. The way they attach to the body is not the same.

Damn....... that means that anything aftermarket that fits an X5M will not work on my car. I'll have to wait for something G05 Specific

Well believe me I've checked everything and here where you can zoom in you might be able see all the details

https://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-ersatz...#38;bt=51_9438

But I al still not confident that the F15 will work. X5M ones will not work we have seen on the pictures.

Its nice to see I am not the only one with this idea😀

The following is definitely not scientific, so please hold back on criticism. lol

I will get exact measurements and video next week but here are rough side by side of a couple vantage points.

My keyless Card was the only thing I had when I test drove the X5MC for a good visual measurement. Also, my car is filthy....we received 2 inches of early snow yesterday.

Good find...... and great observation. It appears that the F95 flares are "roughly" a half inch wider. Too bad they won't fit on a G05 because of the way they are shaped at the ends. It would be a worthwhile upgrade.

So.... for the G05, the only option is Hamann.... for $2500. Ouch.

There's that Russian company that offers the full "Renegade" body kit..... but it's even pricier than Hamann, and (IMO) looks awful anyway.

If I could get my hands on an aftermarket set, It might almost be worth playing with some fiberglass and trying to extend them a bit, but I'm fearful it would still be a large investment that may look terrible.

Waiting is probably the best bet. Not sure if any aftermarket companies will invest in R&D for a G05 though. Not enough enthusiasts to justify it.

;(

.4 inches wider? That's only .2 inches per side. Seems more than that.

would it be possible to fit the x5m flares if you also swapped to x5m bumpers?

Has anyone priced swapping out the the rear pieces or have the part numbers? This is one of my biggest complaints with the G05 X5 with M sport package. My 2013 X5 has a better side profile and wider rear profile.

Thank you for taking the photos. I've wondered if the X5M wheel flares were wider than a non M X5.
Now I have the answer.

This is one thing I would love to modify. Wider arches so I can push the tires/wheels out more. I've always loved that wider look and hate it when a tire is pushed out past the fender and not covered.

How’s the build coming along? Did it end up working?

Didn't want to make it work at any cost. In addition, it must be reliable and not look cheap. At the end it's easier to spend some cash and don't waste time. Spending 2k also brings a certificate to make it street legal in Switzerland. But thanks for asking 👍🏻

I've done SO MUCH research around the subject. And also came to this exact conclusion. I just think €3,500 is way too much for plastic. I mean I can get the same parts manufactured in carbon fiber for that price! (Which I won't be doing because I think CF arches look naff)

Thankfully I don't have to get the parts certified here

I'm also joining you on manufacturing these arches for 1/10 of the price

I came to one question, I'd be very thankful for an answer on:

Are x-line arches the same size as the m-sport ones?
Is the only difference that the m-sport are painted?

I remember reading somewhere on here that they are... it's been a couple of weeks though so I don't remember which thread this was.
