Hi Bimmer owners,

I will be getting my new X5 50e tomorrow from the dealership and as you all know, they will try to sell me a multitude of plans and offers and so I wanted to ask all of the experienced BMW owners on what would you recommend. The Sales rep that we worked with recommended the ‘exterior scotchgard’ and wheel tire protection. Are those needed? If not, what other alternatives do I have? Any insights are appreciated

Absolutely forget "exterior Scotchguard". Spend 40 bucks on a DIY ceramic wax but understand that there is NO such thing as a "permanent" wax.
Wheel and tire packages are expensive with lots of fine print.
There is high pressure around all this stuff because the sales comissions are huge.
I never buy those packages and am waaaaaay ahead of the game there.
Keep in mind that any of these insurance products put you in the weak position of playing against the house.
