Hi Guys, I recently ordered the Euro Spec laser lights for my new M50i. Is there a guide as far as what needs to be coded to get them to work 100% as intended? I've looked at the other laserlights threads, but the information is fairly scattered without a full guide. Someone mentioned about flashing needed to be done as well.

If anyone can do this remotely, I'll gladly pay them. I have a laptop with E-Sys Launcher installed and have had remote coding done before when getting the ID6 on my F10, so I'm comfortable with remote sessions.

There's no guarantee that BMW will on already sold vehicles. Before I have someone do it for me, I'll wait a bit to find out if it will happen OTA.

Nothing changed. It's NOT APPROVED but still stalled in the final stage. The comments and final rule suggestions are from 2018. It has been theorized that NHTSA will rule on October 12, 2020 as the final rule date posted was 10-00-2020 (12 being a holiday was not displayed) - I'm not so sure this is the case. Well, the 12th has come and gone and there is no final rule. Yes, we are in the middle of pandemic and that may have something to do with it. The positive comments and suggestions are encouraging, but until there is a final rule, nothing changes. Furthermore, the final rule was supposed to be out 12-00-2019 (Fall 2019), and it got pushed out to 10-00-2020 (Spring 2020). Now it appears that it has been pushed out to 11/00/2020 (NHTSA Docket Agenda), which is sad since we are already in December, so at this pace, I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm sure BMW can unlock the headlights via OTA, the question is would they be willing to do that once the final rule happens and how long would the delay between rule and coding be. I think the best bet is to get your own coding done now.

To date there is no coding for those changes.

You can't stream video from iOS, I am not sure about android. But VIM does work with Bimmercode, so you can view video through a loaded flash drive as most people do.

yeah i figured the flash drive I just want to stream TV or current movies. My friend is using mirror cast app on andriod just didn't know if there was something like that.

I did see an app called carbridge that requires a jailbroken Iphone and only iso 13 vs 14 so im out of luck there

Can you post instructions to enable VIM with Bimmercode? Is that in expert mode? I can play with it on my current F15 and 530e before experimenting on new cars

My 2021 X5 and 530i are shipped and will be taking delivery in the next 2-3 weeks.

I already have this Esys cable. I just need to buy USB-C to Ethernet adapter for Ipad Pro w/Bimmercode.

The instructions are posted here in about 10 different locations. Also the demo mode on Bimmercode does a nice job to show you where you need to go, Go to the demo mode and under the Headunit and scroll down to the video section, there you can enable VIM, Video on USB and also additional codecs. I would select all three. Once you get your vehicle, it is a two step process for VIM, but just follow the prompts as Bimmercode walks you through the process very well. No expert mode needed for VIM, as it is one of the easiest functions to do with that app. Hope this helps.
