It does. You can move it forward and backward. All the way back gives you a lot of leg room in the second row and moving it forward can give you a descent amount of space for the third row

You can move the 2nd row forward by about 2 inches to create some extra room for 3rd row...

2nd pic shows the maximum legroom for the 3rd row seat..
3rd pic shows the minimum legroom for the 3rd row seat..

See the second row seats from the top and you can get the idea how much you can move them front/back

There is a White M-Sport with 3rd row at Fairfax BMW here in VA.

Curious how they fit the temporary spare (at least as indicated on their site), since that typically is in the tub where the 3rd row goes...

My guess is that it is a mistake. When you run the VIN through the decoder it does not show S300A Emergency Spare Wheel as an option.

Ah okay, that's what I figured. Do you have a link to the decoder you use? Just curious to see how well it picks everything up.

Anyone know when the 2020 year models for the x5 will be coming out or available to order? I have an audi currently and are cross shopping the x5 and q7 and gle.

Dealers have said that ordering 3rd row is not available any more. I am Hoping they open up that option as I loved how the driving feel of the x5. We need a third row for emergencies and a few times a year.

If they open it back. Up for 2020 I'd be willing to wait and hopefully get some. Of the first year problems and issues fixed.

My dealer said 2019 model will not be offered with 3rd row...
3rd row option may be offered with the 2020 model

so the day prior to production starting, all of a sudden my production number was changed to another vehicle and the 3rd row despite being confirmed on a daily basis with genius no longer can be found... a super frustrating experience...

Sorry to hear about your experience. I'm week 18 with 3rd row and laser, my status changed to "production begin" today with a VIN issued. Hopefully my order goes through with the 3rd row seat. This has been the most frustrating car buying experience ever.

Placed my order on Feb 18th with third row and it went into "Production begins" late last week and VIN got assigned. Production completion estimation from my dealer is May 1st week (Week 19) with PCD pickup June 6th.

yeah that's super frustrating since I placed my order on feb 10th, so i'm not quite sure what happened, the dealer says that the production number was a phantom production number but there is a disconnect with bmw genius/customer service who insists that it was a good order number

Anyone have the auto cargo cover with their 3rd row, curious to see how this works as it doesn't look like there is much room for it to be stored?

Also, the additional storage that is included underneath the boot/trunk space. Is this still available or has that gone?

I don't see how this is true, when I've seen cars that have the 3rd row. Members here have posted taking delivery of cars with 3rd row.

While some of us (myself included) have received builds with 3rd row, it is no longer able to be ordered. Some with valid orders have also reported being delayed or even cancelled. I think it will be the 2020 model year before it is able to be ordered again.

The cargo cover is fixed with 3rd row. You cannot option it with the power stowed cargo pack. If you order the pack as an option it is a much reduced price as a result.

The additional storage under the boot floor is mostly taken by the 3rd row seats.
