How many people who have the Apple Pay are using a current generation iPhone? Most of the time I see people comment about it and they are rocking an $70,000+ SUV but a fairly obsolete phone (I don't mean that judgmentally-- just that Apple is infamous for making their older tech less supported than the newer versions)

Just picked mine up from being updated to .35 and my voice control button also doesn't bring up Siri anymore. Amazing how they break stuff with new software releases... so annoying.

My cornering lights now work when turning the wheel significantly left or right. I've never had them before, but it would be nice if they came on a bit earlier without having to turn the wheel so hard. Already halfway into the turn before they come on

If Apple Pay is displaying on your phone while in the charge tray, Siri won't work when long pressing the microphone button on the steering wheel. Do the "flip up" finger gesture from the bottom of the phone to shut off apple pay (leaving the phone in the tray) and it will work fine.

Or - remove any payment forms from your apple wallet and Apple Pay will no longer auto activate in the charge tray.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I don't think that's it. I've almost totally given up on wireless charging in this car and never use it. Phone is always in my pocket or in the cup holder.

With the .35 update, do the cornering lights also come on in reverse and with the blinkers? I had our's "fixed" via an IRAP session before .35 was available...and the cornering lights only come on with a hard wheel turn. If they came on with the blinker (like they should) in .35, I'm going to ask for .35 to be installed.

No, they did not come on with the blinkers or in reverse (straight line reverse is all I tried). I only was able to get them to come on when turning the wheel hard.

This was just testing them quickly after dark last night driving around the neighborhood. I'll post if I notice them operate differently.

All issues I mentioned above were resolved. Still on version .35

Apparently, the first update caused some corruption and a reload of the software was all that was necessary to restore all functionality.

I've been running 03/2019.35 for about a week now. Observations:

1) 03/2019.35 doesn't fix any of the long list of bugs I've found/listed in prior posts. This includes the BC lockup bug, where the BC button won't function. ApplePay still appears with the latest iPhone and Latest iOS. Etc, etc. CarPlay still has connectivity issues with my phone from time to time and I have to reboot. Etc, Etc...

2) 03/2019.35 actually introduces a few new bugs. Album Art doesn't update sometimes - so you get the current song title with the wrong album art (happens sporadically). You can no longer select (check box) "automatically adjust for daylight savings time". Instead of fixing the daylight saving time issue, the Fucking dumbasses developers at BMW made it so it's permanently off and you can't change it. Unreal.

3) The collision avoidance warnings are way more active. I get many more warning than before.

That's about it... I wouldn't go out of my way to update my software unless you are in the shop. I'm unsure what the version number progression is adding with each release. From what I'm seeing, BMW has made no progress/improvements other than (maybe) collision avoidance. I "upgraded" from 11/2018.43 - I do not have Laser lights.

Yep, think I'll wait. Car shipped with 11/2018.58 week 9 build and I've only had it a week but so far no issues. I haven't tried Apple Car Play yet.

Wow, I can understand your frustration. I thought the cornering lights were only installed on cars with laser lights. Is this untrue? Sorry for all your continuing issues. I have an appointment next week to have my vehicle updated but sure don't want to introduce new bugs as mine appears to be "bug free" right now.

Cornering lights are only installed on X5's with Laser lights as far as I know. I do not have Laser lights.

W/regard to all my issues. They don't detract from the driving experience and are largely annoyances - in that - they really shouldnt be there in the first place as they are "hiding in plain sight".

What's concerning with this newer software is this: Rather than fixing anything, BMW appears to be band-aiding. Prime example is their treatment of the Daylight Savings Bug. Instead of fixing it, they disabled a feature that comes standard on most $5 clock radios. It's laziness and does not lead me to believe they are working hard to address other issues as well....

Well, on the bright side, it is very easy to change the time 2x/year. I've had cars where I had to pull out the manual every time for simple time changes because it was so complicated to do

I'm sorry about all of your issues though

So what do you do driving a few thousand miles that frequently crosses time zones?

Obviously, what is not a problem to me at all in the big picture of G05 problems IS a big problem for you. My apologies for taking it lightly

Haha - too funny.

That's the thing that struck me. If BMW has now just disabled the feature... why would they do that? Why not just leave it as is (where you can check the box and it doesn't work) - you have until November 3rd 2019 to fix it... Unless you weren't going to fix it by Nov 3rd... Then, disable it and say it works as designed.

Right?

Right?
Maybe it's not actually disabled and the server for it is currently down or something.

Climate control set to sync

I did not know where to put this, but I think this is yet another issue with .35 that I did not notice until this week.

The climate control for driver and passenger in the front is set to synchronize. When I go to setting, that choice is selected but I cannot de-select it.

I prefer to have separate controls for the front vents and am disappointed as I know my dealer will not address this nor pass on the complaint to BMW NA.
