I was just out giving the X5 a polish and noticed a slight crease in the passenger door. I don't see this on the driver's side. I'm wondering if anyone else has this? I'm pissed. I haven't even got 150 km on this thing. They'll get a blasting tomorrow morning.

I agree that it's disheartening to have imperfections so soon already. A few years ago I would have lost my mind at those. But, now I lease, partly so that I can care a lot less about the small stuff.

Unfortunately, your dealer would be under no obligation to do anything about those, since it would be impossible to prove that it was delivered to you like that and it didn't happen afterwards.

Depending on your relationship with the dealers however, I've had some great luck in having cosmetic items like that taken care off. For the crease in the door, most dealerships usually have PDR guys they have on call. Maybe you can ask if they can squeeze your door issue onto the schedule for the next time that person is around.

As for the wheels, did you purchase rim and tire insurance that cover cosmetic damage?

I'm fortunate the pictures at the dealership upon delivery showed these imperfections.

My concern isn't the rim, that's easily fixed. My greatest concern is the door. I'm hoping their dent guy can have that taken care of and if not, I'm not sure what they would do. It looks like it's actually a bulge not pushed in.

I'll have a chat with them tomorrow as the M2 is being dropped off for an MPE and make plans to drop off the X5 for door, rim and software update.

There is a good lesson here at the time of delivery to really look over the car. I'm glad I took a lot of pictures.

I know a few of my buds on this forum are about to pick up their X5's. Just take your time and look it over carefully.

Sorry to hear that. On the F15 i had rim damage similar to yours and they ordered a new rim. Or maybe they took it off another car - who knows. The rim may be hard to prove because a rock could have easily hit it on the way home.

As for the door, I can't see them backing out of that one.

Katie has generally been good about these things.

I'm probably the luckiest guy to have taken so many pics of when the car first arrived at the dealership. These two pictures (marked with the arrow) show the damage that occurred either at the factory or in transit.

Can't blame Parkview. Katie, Wes and Agnes have been good about it I think. They just got the email with several pics that I captured pre-delivery. The X5 is at the dealership now and they are trying to figure out what to do about the crease / dent. I won't accept a repair and paint job on a vehicle that just cost me $100k. Let's hope the Dent Dr works his magic. For this reason they asked me to cancelled the wrapping of the front grill that was suppose to be this past Monday.

I felt defensive until I was able to demonstrate that these issues happened prior to our possession.

They're scheduling the rim and dent guy. Should know if that crease / dent will get fixed.

do you have a leather dash? check your front door tops (the extended black leather from the dash not your interiors Merino or whatever you got)

I got the the whole leather package - dash and seats. I'll check when I get it back.

Sounds good, they know it's been an issue so the fix is simple (order new door cards)

All good now. New rim and the Dent Dr worked his magic.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Sucks when you pay so much for a new car and it has defects.
