2024 X5 Executive Package Removal

Hey,
I ordered a new 2024 x4x40i fully loaded with all the M sport options, executive, climate comfort etc back in April through a broker.

It is now June, they are telling me the car is scheduled for production July 31.

My broker called me yesterday to tell me the delays were due to climate comfort package and delaying production. He then told me that they no longer offer the Executive Package as an option or the climate package and you have to pick each option individually. Soft Close Doors and the glass controls are gone. I went on website to build a new car and it looks like thats the case, no more option to choose executive package or some other options.

He said I now have a new build and a new production number and they are telling me July 31 start.

Anyone run into this issue? Will my previous April build still be built with executive?

I ordered in April with executive and climate comfort and was pushed back to week 28 due to the shortages you describe. My order also went into 150 status today "Production Begins" with a VIN assigned and a 6/29 production date (week 26, I think). I'm still showing executive and climate comfort on my build.

^ Do the f12 trick and check the codes for your build. In my experience, the online tracker is not completely accurate. The car we gave up due to Executive and Climate package deletion shows options in the tracker that don’t align with the codes. Hopefully you got lucky though, and your car will be built how you wanted it.

We’re now on build #2. Initially added Massage seats, but was told that doing so automatically added the nonexistent Climate package. Had to delete both and add individual options like heated rear/front seats, heated steering wheel/armrest and manual rear shades. I’m still not sure if we even want the car with all the deletions, tbh. An 86k car should have the bells and whistles you want, imo.

Welcome to the forum. The dealer or broker sold your allocation to someone else, that would be the only reason you would get a new production number.

Continue tracking the original production number and see how things look.

Did the F12 trick… options show 0ZPX, 0ZRC with all the individual codes that go with those packages (01CR, 0323, 0407, 0417, 04A2, 0552, 0688, 06U3, 06U8 & 0453, 04HA, 04HB, 04NB).

Shows 150 status, VIN, and production date of 6/29.

I guess I won’t know until it arrives, but I like what I’m seeing. Fingers crossed.

I think you should be good! Your build is pretty much locked in when you get a VIN.

This makes some folks getting these packages deleted even more perplexing lol. I guess BMW does what it wants, when it wants. Just gotta hope you aren’t the unlucky consumer.

This is probably what happened. Unfortunately it happens quite often with broker deals. Someone was willing to pay more and they gave up your allocation. Priority is always given to those walking through the door vs those purchasing by way of broker. The better the broker and their relationship with respective dealers is what will prevent this from happening.

Could you see on a European VIN what the current status is, production date and all included options?

Unfortunately not, it only works on US builds.

I got a VIN from my dealer and since yesterday it gives result in the VIN decoder bimmer.work. All options are there.
I hope this is truthful

I can also enter the VIN in the MyBMW app.

From what we have seen, once the vehicle shows up in dimmer.work the data is accurate.

Is it presently possible to get cooled seats? I don't see an option on the X5 build website.

Cooled seats are part of the Climate Comfort Package, which doesn’t appear to be available on 40i models anymore. However, I have found a neat trick. If you add the Front Massaging Seats to your build, it automatically adds the Climate Comfort Package including the cooled seats.

For clarity, the seats are ventilated not cooled. They suck air in to use evaporation to keep you cooler and dry.

Per the CA we used, that trick ultimately won’t work since the CCP isn’t available. We tried it and were told they’d likely both be removed when the build flipped to 150, which means you’d lose basic amenities like heated rear seats/steering wheel. In other words, it’s a gamble.

Personally I’d option all the standalone things from the CCP and Executive that are available (besides massage seats) and call it a day. BMW will remove stuff and proceed with the build with no courtesy heads up.

That’s not surprising. My X5 went into Status 150 last week with Climate Comfort and Executive Packages still appearing on the build, so I should be good.

I noticed this too which is adding to the confusion. A mere few weeks ago it seemed like it was available then suddenly no more.

I guess if someone who placed an order recently can confirm, does adding the massage seats include the full climate comfort package including the 4 zone hvac that is now reported missing as well.

Imo, these are deal breakers. Might as well get an X7 or something else.

If you ordered massage seats it will not let the dealer add comfort package. You can not get ventilated seat, 4 zone air or exec package on 40i. I tried 3 weeks ago. They told me it should be available for September. Wife is deciding on M60 or waiting for options to come back on 40i. I ordered an X3 M40i with ventilated seats for me instead of new X5 for wife. I will check again when my X3 that was built yesterday arrives. Wife doesn’t want to order then have options removed.

I dont think ventilated seats can be optioned on the M60i either as of this past week - unless that just changed. I did read where options should come back soon.
