50 Year Badge Availability

I've seen some slight promotion regarding the BMW 50 year anniversary badge being added to M Models (read: not any model with the M Sport Package added) that have a March 2022 (and beyond) date.

If I have a week 9 build, and it becomes available as an add-on, how has something like that worked in the past? As long as the vehicle isn't being assembled, it's fair game? Or is it as long as the vehicle hasn't "entered production" ?

Vehicle with the M Sport package are eligible for the emblems also.
As long as you haven't gotten to the Production Begins stage when a VIN is assigned you should be able to make changes. (if you have Individual options then you can't shortly after the order is received).

Any idea if we can buy these after the fact and install ourselves?

I have an M Sport coming but I don't think it will have this badge on it. nothing indicates it anywhere. I am guessing I can order the part if I really wanted the badge?

I received word today that currently, as of February 7th, 2022, the Badge option is available in the system on 2023 8-series builds, but there is not currently an option for the X5.

my G06 has a build date of 3/15/22, so do we think it will have this or no? I do think it would be odd they would put this on an X6 X40i, even though I did order mine with M sport, and I would be happy if they slap it on

Now I found this, which disputes that non-M versions would receive the badge. Seems to be some misinformation out there?

the bottom category (non-M models) clearly states the emblems are "not available from factory" but looks like they may be purchased later

Anniversary badge is now an option on the builder for those looking to add it to an order.

Someone find the part! Will this only be the front badge? Rear too? Steering wheel?

Looking at the build site it shows it as being a $200 option with the badges on the front, rear and wheels. Nothing in the interior.
