Has anyone purchased chains for their 305/40 R20 tyres?
If so - what brand and size? Most chain manufacturers don't have this tyre size in their systems yet, and Thule only recommends the K-Summit - which is not allowed in some Alpine areas here (Australia). Some on this forum have suggested the Peerless Super Z6 Snow Cables which looks a good option - but when I contacted Peerless - they said they had no size suitable for these tyres. |

I'm going to drop by Roof rack superstore in Mitcham on the weekend and ask them about it. Hope it doesn't end up being too overpriced.. Need to get a new set of roof racks to fit my Thule box. |

Just an update,
Went to roof rack super store, they can only offer the K Summit which are around $900. Apparently theres talk that Falls Creek will ban these next year. Conclusion: expensive and unsure about next year I was told PEWAG RSV Servo SUV 82 can fit 22" wheels. There's a guy based in Selby, Vic who import them in. Priced at $290. I will make some time to visit and check if they fit. These seem to be the only option for me. |

Hey Jammit,
I don't know if it's true or not. These were the comments from 2 people, I quote "But I believe they will be banned at both resorts next year as part of the new restrictions being tabled now." Anyway, for those with 22inch wheels, I have been able to get a set of snow chains that will fit the rear wheels without breaking the bank at $180AUD. The model is V Traction KN210. I tried them on with the sales rep and they fit well. |

Gapmatt - these look like low profile 12mm chains - similar to the Thule/Konig versions.
Let us know if you find they stay on when you get to use them. Some reports on other forums suggest that they can slide around on the tyre due to the low profile side-walls. Not sure how valid this is or just scare mongering. See photos at bottom of this page: https://www.ski.com.au/xf/threads/sp....60352/page-14 |

Good to see options exist for the 22" wheels.
Does anyone know if wheels from an E70 X5 would fit a G05? I've got an old set of 18" wheels that I'm thinking could be fitted with more appropriate winter tires, or at least have less issues with snow chains. |

Sorry haven't been very active online. I bought them from a guy who sells snow chains in Melbourne's East. They're V2 Tractions and fit my 22" well. I've used them at Falls Creek last year. Another member, Atlas, also bought them I believe from the same person. The seller is a really nice guy. If you'd like his number, pls PM and I can send it to you. Otherwise, you can google V2 Traction. |
