No, just wanted to confirm with you I was getting the 21” wheels. When ordering with dealer the “no-brainer” thinking was with rf getting that option makes no sense. With your insight, it does.

Here is my first experience with run flats: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1626566

My position is simple. In US, for $150 at order time, get the bloody spare no matter the rim or tire choice. The only reason it's a discussion at all is BMW idiocy in not including it stock in every car.

22's and 2 axle air. Great combination of comfort and handling.

We have 22" staggered with air suspension. The ride and handling is fantastic. We've driven locally and road trip. No additional road noise

+1. Don't be the one that doesn't order the spare tire for only a few hundred $$.

Has anyone had any mechanical issues (or damage) when changing the G05 from the optional 22” wheels to 21” wheels? The tire stickers are pretty specific in regards to overall wheel/ tire specs and I’ve gotten different opinions from different dealers. Looking for a way to confirm if making this change is possible. Thanks in advance!

No issues. Just make sure you change tire settings in iDrive from 22" to 21". After that iDrive will show recommended pressure.

Makes sense! I guess I have concern with the transfer case being programmed one way or another.

As long as diameter is the same you should be ok. Use this tire size calculator to see if diameter is not changing.

Anyone have pics of the spare tire option? Does it take up any space on the cargo area?

No, it doesn't take any extra space.

I am looking at purchasing the Spare Wheel G05 - BMW (36-11-5-A3E-078) and I have 22" wheels on the car currently. This spare is 4.3" smaller in overall diameter. Will this pose issues running that overall diameter difference on the same axle?

When using spare your max speed should be less than 50mph. I guess at low speeds it's OK. Imagine going 90+mph with spare tire .

From manual: "Speed up to a max. of 50 mph / 80 km/h"

I ordered these wheels with TPMS sensors and tires already mounted. My question is will I have any issues with those, likely cheap Chinese sensors, pairing with the car or giving a fault? Is the system that paticular?

Being overly technical about it: There is a ‘molded intention’ below the cargo mat for spare. If you use that for storage, you will lose that to the spare tire.

At least I think so since I haven’t picked my X5 up yet 😁

22s here on a 2024 X6 with no air suspension. Great ride unless you are looking for a Lexus waterbed feel and no drone at any speed.
