Steering wheel button question?

Hi guys, trying to figure out these two buttons (the one above my thumb and to the right of it) and what they each do specifically. Also, do they need to be pressed every time my wife gets into the vehicle if she wants all the safety features ON. These two do not turn on automatically, she has to manually press them. Thank you! Sorry the pictures won’t rotate!

It's the controls for Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function (ACC), Assisted Driving, Steering and Traffic Jam Assistant.

You really should download the drivers guide app or review the manual.

The one above your thumb turns on and off cruise control. The one to the right changes between adaptive cruse, traffic jam assist and extended traffic jam assist (if you have that option and it meets the physical requirements).

Adaptive cruise control = cruise control where the car will maintain a minimum set distance to the car in front. You steer, but the car will accelerate or decelerate depending on traffic up to the maximum speed set in your cruise control.

Traffic Jam Assist = Adaptive cruise plus it will steer the car for you. Must touch the steering wheel periodically.

Extended Traffic Jam Assist = Traffic Jam Assist on "restricted access" roads - I read this to mean highways. This is full autonomous driving up to speeds of 40ish mph.

Thank you very much for explaining in detail. Much appreciated! Cheers.

And the safety features of the car are on automatically when you start (pedestrian, city safety, lane keeping, blind spot, ....). You can turn it on and off with the button next to the hazard light on the middle console.

So to summarize these two buttons are strictly for cruise control only?

Yes. You only need to press the middle one to turn it on. The one on the right is to switch between cruise with steering assist and without steering assist.

It's not an iPhone - the network/signal is on the wrong side of the screen.

Haha, it's AT&T marketing obfuscation aka fake 5G:

It's horrible. When my phone says LTE in Minnesota I get almost 100 meg over the air. When my phone says 5Ge, I get less than 50 meg.

It's the one on the right that does the switch and the middle that turns it on. Or is the foto mirrored? Or is it different in right hand drive cars?

Your right. The one above my thumb turns on the Assisted Driving. The button to the right of my thumb toggles between Assisted Driving and and Distance Control. Can you have both on at the same time?

If I am correct principally Assisted Driving = Distance Control with steering control.

There is also a third mode, Assisted Driving Plus (Extended Traffic Jam Assist), that will become available under specific circumstances. Generally it is on Interstate highways although it could be on some other divided highways when you are going under 40mph in a traffic jam.

You can only be in one mode at a time:

1. Cruise with distance control
2. Cruise with distance control and steering, need to touch the wheel every so often.
3. Cruise with distance control and steering, total hands free.
