Thumbs up Rear headrest pillows aka”Cuddle pillows” info

Just got in 2 ivory white rear cuddle pillows for my head rest.
Dealer tracked me down these to match my rear ivory white Merino leather seats. They match perfectly. These are designed to fit the folding rear head rest by a alcantara strap that snaps to the bottom of the head rest. It is a snug/custom fit. They are about $175.00 a pillow. Very high quality.

The rear headrest also can flip up with pillow attached.

Could you provide part numbers? A lot of people have been trying to find these.

These pillow are a great idea. What material is it made from?
Going to ask my mom to try making these out of microfiber material?!?
I'm too cheap to pay $175ea for them.

Ok, I wouldn't buy them but its because I don't care for the way they look. However, I don't believe its a ridiculous purchase even if someone doesn't have X7M bucks. You live life only once, if you want them and can pay for them, then do it. I know people who think I'm nuts cause I'm willing to pay $120 for a bottle of wine that only fills three glasses. I worked, I made my money and will spend it however I want and believe others should do the same.
I remember a few co-workers who were talking behind my back the day I drove to work in a 911. I could hear them and what they were saying. I walked over to them and pretty much told them what I thought of their conversation. I don't like seeing people being deprived of what they want in life, its just too damn short and precious.

Pillows are made of alcantara suede. Part number are in the top pic. They are color specific so I didn’t find their price verses quality that far out of line for OEM that perfectly match my Merino seats.
I factored what my wife could make these for as she is a excellent quilter. By the time you got the thicker alcantara material and then you couldn’t get the dye lot to probably match and you wouldn’t end up saving that much anyway on pillows for a $95k BMW that might look cheap.
Honestly at this level, who cares?

The pillows are very high quality and have a tight custom fit from the front and back. Price is typical BMW. My dealer bought the last two ivory white in the USA but there are 7 available in Germany. Not sure what the other colors availability is?

Details like the suede matching the headrest perfectly even from the rear is what you are paying for as opposed to a piece of black elastic like other companies use in their headrest pillows.

Yeah, when you think about it... It's a 5"x8" pillow wrapped in leather for $175. I mean the leather is high quality, so potentially there's that added value, but it just seems excessive to spend that.

My fear if we made them is they wouldn’t look oem or even match. The BMW ones certainly look and more importantly feel very high quality. I got my 10% off valued customer discount of the $175. I searched for months to find these in all my oem BMW sources and they are impossible to find. It’s one of those items like the travel trays that you just buy to take it up another level and the function and form is spot on.

No doubt about that. I know the headrest on the front seats are phenomenal. I'd love to extend that for the rear passengers. Fortunately for me, my rear passengers are in car seats, so they couldn't care less.

I bought them for my kids for our next long road trip just coming up. My kids used one of their stuffed animals behind their heads last year so these should be about perfect in size and the way they extend forward to meet their little heads. You could probably argue a safety reason to get them with your wife.. I sat back there and tried them today and I definitely would want them as an adult riding in the rear. Feels very high end aviation seating now.

FYI: there are two designs of these oem headrest pillows. These particular ones are designed for our thinner flip headrest. My recommendation is to take a few screenshots from this post to your dealer and have them track them down using the numbers given in the pictures for the right color to match your interior leather.

They aren't leather. They're "Alcantara Suede" which is a man made material.

Imagine what they would cost if they were real leather!

I'll assume you didn't opt for the glass controls either. To me, the pillows are in the same category as is my Scotty Cameron putter.

Nope - definitely got the glass controls. The difference is the pillows in the back - doesn't really change the aesthetic of the car - it's a comfort item for ppl back there. And most ppl wouldn't care one way or the other unless they're being driven around for a great deal of time. The glass controls, in my opinion, make the center stack look more in line for a car at this price point.

From the parts catelog, it looks like these pillows only come in the Ivory White or Black - I can't find part numbers for any other colors.

Not sure, it's been out of date for quite some time.

FYI... Make sure you get the ones with the “wide strap” that snaps to the bottom of the pillow. The little narrow strap pillows don’t work with out head rest and only work with the 2nd row captain chairs. Those headrest have a special loop designed into them. Looking at the box, I believe they are made in Germany.
