I need an intervention

Now that Iíve ordered my M50i I canít stop checking the MyGarage site to follow production.

Someone needs to start a support group so I can stop checking it 30 times a day!

At least in the US you guys don't have to wait 6-8 months!

I ordered in july, and hope to get the car delivered in february...

We can't even 'check online', we have to refrain from calling the dealership 3 times per week

Join the club. The best info comes from your sales person. Get their cell number so you can text. Best way not to drive both of you nuts.

Once it leaves the factory on transport, even your sales rep is dead in the water. My car took a week to get from SC to Delaware. Drove me crazy and my Dealer couldn’t track the transport vehicle.

I filled my time with learning as much as I could on this forum. People here are great, and it helped - a little.

We got the new Navigator for my wife last year. Had to custom order. Fords tracking is a little different. But after all the wait they delivered the wrong car! Had to start over and wait again. So in the grand scope of things this doesnít seem too long. But thatís not helping at this very moment!!

Edit: just checked again!

This symptom/disease is more serious than i previously thought. According to (my) reliable source(s) who want to remain unidentified and i completely trust HIM/HER,THEM if my life was depended on it told me as of this writing that and i quote “WITH 10000000000000% CERTAINTY THAT THERE NEVER WILL BE A CURE FOR THIS INCURABLE SYMPTOM/DISEASE AS LONG AS HUMANS ROAM ON THIS PLANET”. Also, HE/SHE/THEY said that but not confirmed and this is a direct quote “CDC WILL BE CONDUCTING SECRET OPERATION CODE NAME G05 TO ROUND UP CITIZENS WITH THIS SYMPTOM/DISEASE AND SEND THEM TO THEIR SPARTANBURG ,SC FACILITY FOR FURTHER EVALUATION IN NOT SO DISTANCE FUTURE”. According to my source(s) this is a world wide phenomena and FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HUMAN HISTORY All THE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO CONTAIN/ERADICATE THIS DANGEROUS SYMPTOM/DISEASE.

Just don't put a lot of credence in the online site timeline. It will tell you when your vehicle is in production (which may be when it actually begins or some time after), when it is finished (which may be when it's actually finished or some time after), and when it is shipped (which may be when it's actually shipped or some time after). Check with your dealer periodically, and with the phone reps (number listed here somewhere in the forums) to get a better idea of actual status, good luck and congrats!

My dealer estimated 6-8 weeks for production, until I requested PDC then he laughed, LOL.

09/21 Ordered
09/24 Production number
10/03 Scheduled for production - no week assigned
Spammed My Garage for 5 weeks - no week assigned, possibly week 46
10/29 Production begins - VIN assigned
10/31 PDC scheduled - Early December

In all around 11 weeks from start to finish.

Your solution is easy. Move to Switzerland and I guess in all Europe, here you don't have access to that. You receive a call from the seller "your car has arrived"

Thatís kind of what I expect. The salesman said about 3 weeks but I cannot imagine that being correct.

Still refusing to call the genius line because I donít want to admit to my disappointment. Iíd rather just have a glimmer of hope.

In the meantime Iíll be clicking away!

Not that this will help me stop checking, but...

Is there like a day they move orders from received to VIN, and so on? Like do they do it in batches on Mondays or Fridays or something? Or is it anyone’s guess?
TIA

So I said I wouldnít because I knew I wouldnít like the answer but I broke down anyways and called the genius line.

No build date. Still awaiting a slot. The ca was very nice and said I should call back in 2-3 weeks and get more info. Her and I both know thatís not going to stop my from checking the mygarage site 25 times a day.

(Checked 4 times already today)

Nope. She said something along the lines of Ďthey are still trying to make room for it on the production lineí.

They should be able to give you a build week, at least they did for me. Pretty much there will be no movement on the tracker until the week leading up to your build week. Unless, of course, your build week got bumped up - which would be an added surprise.

My build week is 50 - I still check the tracker every day and call genius once a week "just in case".

I hear ya. I imagine part of the training to work at the bmw call center is learning how to deal with lunatics like us on the phone!!
