Disable Rear Seat Belt Chime

Howdy,

I disabled the driver and passenger seatbelt chimes via Bimmercode and it worked for the front seats but not the back.

At least in the US, the back seat won't chime if someone sits there and doesn't strap in, but it WILL if they buckle and then UNbuckle. That's how it was before and after I coded the two options within ACSM via Bimmercode.

It doesn't look like rear seat behavior has changed regardless of the two settings in Bimmercode.

Just wondering if anyone experienced the same, it's a 04/01/2019 production date MY19 50i M-Sport with 7/2019.53.

Thanks all, happy new year!

I can't imagine why anyone would want passengers unbuckled. There may be instances where passengers don't want fasten their seat belts for some stupid reason, but I certainly would not want their bodies flying around my interior in a serious collision.

Thanks for your feedback, I am asking about the chimes not the dash visibility. I consistently wear and enforce passenger seatbelt use verbally, I don't want a repetitive chime when someone unbuckles in a parking lot or to take their jacket off. I'm looking for technical guidance not legal.

Got an answer from the developer that this is not currently possible and coding via Bimmercode only affects the front seats.

Im actually interested to add the seat belt light to the dash for front passenger and the rear if possible. Im guessing its the same but opposite coding.

They're all enabled by default so you'd just only disable the driver.

Hello,

I think this feature is to enable the installation of child restraints and booster seats using ISOFix without setting off the chime. Many of these have their own harnesses and don't use the vehicle's seatbelt.

Cheers,

OP I was wondering do you still have the visual waring on the dashboard? I corded out the sound but the warning is still on the dash.
