Bring back the Group B cars

After seing the replacement Yaris rally car or in fact any of them I hark back to the days of the Group B cars that were the kings of rallying.
I stopped watching rallying a while ago as I couldn't see what a small shopping car had in common with this once great event and sighed at the direction it took.

Absolutely agree, they need to make the cars cool again. They confirmed electric assistance too and that will be the end of that. FIA needs to stop with the regulations and have the manufacturers go wild with ideas again.

It was a knee jerk reaction from FISA to ban Gp B after Toivonens fiery exit when he misjudged a bend while leading by a huge margin and went off a cliff.

Just bring back the quattro...the rest of them I could take or leave, honestly.

Anyhow, it was definitely getting too dangerous. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. Just ask the drivers.

Wait what?!?
You don't fancy a Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione?
Ever been in one?

Never been in a group B spec car at all! And while the Lancia did make some fun noises, the 5 cylinder harmony on the Audi is unbeatable, and its styling (or lack thereof) I think is the coolest too. I don't think anyone can debate that they were all effective for what they did, but for me the Audis were the coolest.

I wouldn't mind BOTH the flame spitting quattro S1 or the Delta S4 Integ. Real cars driven by real men and if too powerful for any they could try club sports

To me foremost the FIA should require homologation models in more motorsport classes.

Agreed, that would make for better racing and much faster flow of racing tech into road cars.

I was a huge fan of the 2 liter cars in the 2000’s as well. Those things looked and sounded amazing and we got specials like the STi, Evo and RS so def a good time in WRC. The times of Solberg, Loeb and Gronholm
