2020 M50i purchased 10/01/19, iStep is 07/2019.55...I've had no issues with the iDrive 7 or any tech. Suddenly today, my wake word, that I was using, instead of "Hey BMW" didn't work, it was "Gorgeous" BTW. I checked and the mic was working using steering wheel controls. I don't even think "Hey BMW" was working either. I go to settings and I setup new wake work again, "Gorgeous", seems to work. But now on my Home screen I had the News widget working. It worked 100% since day one. Now the News App is not working. I choose News in apps and it hangs. iDrive sees all apps are installed but does anyone know a way to refresh apps or delete/re-install news app?

I know you probably tried this already but did you do a reset of idrive? Hold volume/power button for 30 seconds? This seems to fix a lot of software related issues.

What he said... Get used to doing that on a fairly regular basis. I have to do it about once per week. Welcome to Technology!

I've seen two methods of reseting iDrive. I typically use the 30 sec method, but I recall something about a 10 second button combo? I might be going crazy?

Check your subscriptions on Connected Drive online, they may have expired. Some of those services require subscriptions which expire after a certain date.

The other thing I'd try is updating your profile & subscriptions in your car. Hit the Globe looking button, then Options, and choose Update profile and subscriptions.

I had tried iDrive reboot holding down pwer button. It's worked with other buggy stuff like the live cockpit nav dissaperaing...but this time nothing was resetting or bringing back News App. I logged out of conncected drive and logged in to guest. shut off car...came back 20 min later and logged back into my Connected acct. that seems to have fixed.
