-lane change warning (seems the camera doesn't pick up the lane anymore)
-cross traffic is disabled when it says enabled
-auto high beams are disabled...it says I have to buy it in the store.

Have a return visit scheduled later this week so we'll see if they're easy fixes.
I have the same issue regarding Lane Assist (was nit able to check Auto Beams and cross traffic yet).
Did your problems get fixed and how?

The BMW software engineers are THE dumbest fucks I've come across in my experience with software driven things. I've seen stupid shit. These guys give "stupid" a good name.

If you need a reason to be concerned - consider that the BMW engineers couldn't even code the X5 to handle daylight savings time.... this is elementary school level coding...

I wonder myself about all these software issues. I have been reading almost all forum issues for several months, since I want to order an x5 in a few months and really hope these issues get fixed. I hope BMW engineers are reading these posts because many are very thoughtful and can help identify real problems leading to solutions.

Anyone in the UK has the 7/2019.39 update? I picked up my X5 last week and it’s still on the March software, but the car says there’s no update available as does a key check at the dealer.

Similar question: Does anyone have 7/2019.39 in Canada? I'm also on March and according to BMW Canada there is no "July update" for Canadian market.

The car was apparently stuck in transport mode. They deleted it, went to sleep and all is working now.
I posted my service sheet on my profile.

Totally seems to be the case. I wonder if this software is developed in house or if they outsource.

I have the unfortunate pleasure of working with a few German software packages and they are terrible. Absolutely terrible. This is what makes me think that the BMW software must be developed in the Deutschland.

This seems likely. Pretty sure they subscribe to the old-school mantra of: "If it was hard to develop, it should be hard to use."

This is when good companies realize they can't do everything the best. The ConnectedDrive app and iDrive should be outsourced to a development shop that focuses on proper software development and release management.

ConnectedDrive is almost certainly outsourced and there were earlier threads documenting support indicating so. CD systems being down regionally for months in the spring seems to evidence that the outsourced groups are worse than BMW internal. Grass is not usually actually greener over there. I think BMW needs to own their software process and their UX, they just haven't figured out that's the case yet.

When I attended the X5 training session at my dealer prior to the X5 first showing up on lots last year, the trainer specifically brought attention to the fact that IDrive 7 is now developed in-house at BMW. IDrive 6 and previous versions were outsourced to a different company.

I’m not sure about the Connected Drive phone app though.

If this is the first time they've developed in house, that would somewhat explain why there are so many bugs on initial release...

Interesting. Knowing what I know about software engineering and BMW standard arrogance that would prevent (and has prevented) rapid continuous process improvement, and had I known that bit about the change to iDrive7 process ahead of time, I can guarantee I would not have bought a 2019 X5.

7/2019.39 Updated

Haven't had any CarPlay disconnects since I picked up the car Thursday morning.
Long drive yesterday (250 miles) and no issues with P (BC stalk), lane change assist changes _much_ more quickly than 03/2019.35 did.

Navigation worked just fine, everything seems to be improved. Oh, and they replaced my wireless charging tray, no more Apple Pay pop-up issue either!

Since you have posted this more than once, I reported that my auto high beams work as expected. Do you have lasers?

Did July Software update fix cold weather steering problem ?

Did the July software update or any other fix the cold weather steering problem as suggested in the below thread ?

Ski 45+ days a year in Vermont. Cold weather steering problems are a deal killer.

Considering ordering 2020 X5 in the next few weeks or maybe waiting till after ski season if cold weather steering is still a problem.

No one knows, it hasn't been cold. I wouldn't even worry about it if I were you. Odds are high it will be fixed and if not, seem to be low you will experience it unless just the right conditions are present. That said, evidently having it happen is not fun at all.

Have you asked Key Check from your dealer?

If they have indeed delayed the July release, you can safely assume that they found something (or some things) broken in that July release candidate...
