We're probably hitting the same factory and I would be getting rotors custom made to the X5M specification along with the bracket to attach them to the knuckle.

Oh and some more data;

Factory Urus
440 x 40mm fronts
370 x 30mm rears

X5M
395 x 36mm fronts
380 x 20mm rears

f90 ccbs
400 x 38mm fronts
380 x 28 mm rears

Personally, I don't care about running bigger rotors or 10 pot calipers, I mainly care about the dust and stopping performance. Some bad news, the rotors are extremely expensive. 7k-7.7k for 360-440mm sizes in 5mm increments. 'm trying to see if I can get a bulk order and what the MOQ looks like and may just arrange a group buy or something.

That would be awesome if you could arrange a group buy for our exact spec and that would eliminate the need for a spacer (I think), if they can be made of the same thickness? It will be very interesting to see what they say about the thickness requirements of the CC vs iron. I wonder if they HAVE from an engineering standpoint because of the material?

Anyway, it will be great to learn what you find out. Thanks!

Love this thread. Great information!

I've got nothing positive to add, BUT I wonder what the 10/4 setup would feel like. Although rare, when I've had to step on the brakes a little harder than usual (I don't think I've ever had to panic stop the x5), there's so much initial bite that it's easy to trigger ABS. Far easier than any other car I've owned. Track driving aside and ignoring brake fade (which in that video where the x5 is taking on that Mclaren and the GT3 on the track - brake fade didn't seem to be an issue on the high speed track), I imagine the 10/4 might upset the balance… imo

Like you and x622, I agree that the 10/4 setup would be insane overkill for the street and it may or may not be too much for the track. Honestly, even though it has been discussed, I think the general consensus is to do our very best to source ceramic discs and pads to work with our factory caliber setup. At the end of the day, this would be most "cost-effective" and give us the added benefit the CC has to offer and still allow the system to work as it was intended by BMW. Thank you for your contribution to the thread!

The ABS kicks in is due to lack of grip on tires. Remember, the brakes, at normal usage and not a HPDE or endurance, are only as good as how much grip the tires have.

Reviving this thread...
I'm driving F07, on F10 M5 caliper/400mm front and rear GT4/380mm at the moment, had upgraded mine to carbon ceramic CCB rotor for front, impressive stopping power, no more dirty rim.
Definitely possible to replace the iron rotor with carbon CCB retaining the stock caliper.

Do you have part numbers for the rotors and pads that need to be purchased?

Is it a direct swap without brackets?
